Information
Luffy's full name is Monkey D. Luffy, but his nakama and others calls him, Luffy for short. He has other names too which are, Straw Hat Luffy, Captain or Straw Hat. Being only a young seventeen years old human teenager boy, Luffy is also a pirate and the captain of his own pirate crew called the Straw Hat pirates, that has a dream to become the next king of the pirates. He stands at five feet and eight inches tall, with shaggy raven colored hair, and has a well-built musclar physique. He has coal colored eyes with a scar with two stitches underneath his left one. He only seen wearing his trademark straw hat, which was lent to him when he was young by the legendary pirate captain called "Red-Haired" Shanks, giving him the nickname "Straw Hat Luffy".

Like his male crewmates, he has the same type of outfit, as opposed to the rest of the crew, like Nami and Robin, who change frequently. He may wear a different outfit to suit the climate of an island, like a hooded parka on Drum Island or desert robes in Alabasta. But will always switch back to his trademark vest that he wears left open, and shorts after the adventures on that island are over. Despite this, he will wear his usual outfit in different colors and has been known to sport other miscellaneous items on his person from time to time, but always has his tan sandals on his feet. Luffy loves to eat, especially eating his meat. He like monsters, and having ton of adventure with his crew. He has the power of a devil fruit user, with gave him the abilitly to stretch like rubber, which he uses in his fights as his weapon and in his fighting style.

After several events, the world goverment thought of him as the most dangerous member of the Straw Hats, due to him being a relatively new pirate. But they originally didn't pay much attention to him, until hey took noticed when defeating the three top pirates of East Blue, giving him his first bountry on his head at Thirty million berries. His bountry keeps going up with each event, second being at hundred million when he defeat Crocodile of the one of the seven warlord of the sea. His third bounty of three hundred million was for defeating Rob Lucci and Blueno of the CP9, for orchestrating the assault on Enies Lobby, and for declaring war against the World Government. Then finally his fourth bounty of four-hundred million was for defeating Gekko Moriah of the Shichibukai, punching a World Noble, and for being the son of Revolutionary Dragon, giving him the total bountry of hundred and forty million belies.

Personality
Luffy's personality is like that of a child's, in the sense that he tends to go to the extremes. He can either be extremely greedy, especially in cases of food, who his crew is, and adventure; or extraordinarily selfless, going so far as virtually sacrificing himself to avenge or protect his friends, crew, and family. This childish mentality of his allows him to get to the root of the problems, and allows him to figure out the simplest way of solving it. Luffy's two dominant traits are his apparent lack of intelligence and his utter fearlessness. Luffy can easily be amazed by the simplest things, such as hermit crabs, and can be confused by concepts such as that by digging a hole right next to another he may be unintentionally filling the other hole. He likes monsters and will ask weird creatures to join his crew, as for example asking a talking tree to join his crew. He also has no knowledge of medicine, when Nami had a high fever he told her to eat cold food and later tried to make Roronoa Zoro better after battling Bartholomew Kuma by pouring sake onto him because Zoro likes sake. When attempting to think up a plan to get off of Amazon Lily, while he managed to make some logical sense of where to look, he strains himself and notes that he is going to feel sick from too much thinking. His simple mind actually saves him against Hancock's powers because he mistook it for a "Noro Noro Beam", used by Foxy, which brought out a fear of being slowed down (though it is shown later he is simply immune to her powers, because of his pure heart). If Luffy finds something he doesn't understand, even if someone explained in detail, he calls it a "mystery thing"; like calling dance powder a "mystery powder". Another thing Luffy's likes asking is "non-humans" such as Keimi and Brook if they can poop, in which case the answer is usually a yes. Luffy has a slow reaction time, especially to freezing temperatures. The same cannot be said when he is on the field of battle, though he has been known to dodge bullets with ease. It has been stated more than once that Luffy's instinct and behavior is similar to that of a wild animal's, like when he knows who he has to fight before he even gets to the battle. Even how he fights shows this, when he relies on his instincts and countering attacks. This compliments the way he views the world. He usually is always smiling, except in a fight where he is forced to use all his power (and sometimes even then). Luffy also seems to rarely change personality wise. Because he views the world in a straightforward and simple manner, he occasionally is the only person who can see past events that have taken place and realize the true goal, yet at other times he can fall into the simplest of traps. He is, however, a genius when it comes to fighting, such as when he figured out how to defeat Crocodile's Devil Fruit power on the verge of death, how to use Soru from sight, developed a number of effective counters to Enel's "Mantra" ability and, most recently. He does have a habit of holding a grudge even in dire situations (such as calling Franky a "bastard" in the middle of his fight with Rob Lucci causing Franky to retort "Now's not the time to be mad at me" and refusing to let Crocodile help him escape Impel Down even when there was no alternative). However he tries not to hurt civilians and people he likes, even if they intend to do harm to him, preferring to run from them than fight.

Skills
As captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Monkey D. Luffy has immense physical strength capable of breaking stone and shattering steel with his bare hands. Additionally, Luffy is the Straw Hat crew's top fighter and has always fought the strongest villain. Luffy's sheer physical strength and dexterity is a result of his grandfather's unorthodox training methods (thrown into a bottomless ravine, tied to a balloon, thrown into a forest at night, etc.) and he claimed he had a punch as powerful as a pistol even at seven years of age. His endurance and durability is incredible, taking continuous, deadly assaults from powerful opponents that would have killed a normal person in most of his fights, and still standing up to continue fighting and eventually obtaining victory. Luffy also possesses tremendous speed, agility, and reflexes to match his strength and endurance. In fact, on more than one occasion, Luffy was able to anticipate moves and counter attacks that would normally be beyond his field of vision due to his sharp reflexes. He is also known to increase in his strength quite dramatically in a short period of time. His vast strength is only exceeded by his enormous willpower, as demonstrated on several occasions as for example when he manages to take in hundred shadows without passing out, compared to normal humans, who can only take in 2 or 3. This willpower even lets him survive far beyond what normal people are capable of, as demonstrated when he was poisoned very far beyond what a human is capable of surviving, only living on despite his critical condition through sheer willpower. Another example is when he survives through Emporio Ivankov's "Healing Hormones" ability, which even with a slim chance of surviving had not only survived the endeavor, but made a recovery in twenty hours when the normal time for the healing procedure is two days. He also possesses extraordinary jaw strength, where he can almost chewed through metal bars of a cage Buggy put him in. He also ate the cage in which Gecko Moria put him in, and managed to give Rob Lucci a small bite wound, as well as break the steel chains. His greatest feat on this area, however, was that he managed to make Jinbe, who is known to have an extremely high tolerance towards pain, yell out in pain when he bit the fishman's arm. Luffy is also shown to be very agile. Luffy is able to react to foes faster than him, like Kuro, Arlong, Bellamy, and Enel. After learning the CP9's shave technique to enhance not only his speed, but his strength as well, he became even more so.

But unlike Zoro or Sanji, Luffy's fighting style is completely improvised. Which means it follows no particular code of honor, and so if necessary, he will attack women or animals, hit below the belt, attack his enemies even if they have their backs turned or are otherwise unprepared or unsuspecting, use enemies as human shields and even bite his opponents. While fighting, Luffy is adept at improvising, and regularly comes up with creative counterattacks to use against his enemies. This however leads both enemies and allies alike to wonder if Luffy is taking the fight seriously, especially when he comes up with ridiculous and over the top moves, which prompts Luffy to respond that he's always serious. When Luffy fights, he relies heavily on his instincts, which, interestingly enough, are mostly correct. Even as early as the Arlong Park arc, after getting bitten he managed to escape with his arm still in one piece by slamming Arlong's head to loosen his jaw to get it out instead of simply pulling it. He picked out the real Mr. 3 from a bunch of wax look-a-likes on a hunch. He also destroyed Enel's Raigo using the gold ball as a conductor, but he had no real idea what he was doing and was acting out of instinct. Before even learning Kenbunshoku Haki, Luffy could easily dodge any attack relying on his instinct. He also appears to be intelligent enough to at least understand fundamental concepts, such as rubber being a natural insulator, which might be why he did not bother ducking out of the way of Enel's lightning attacks as it would have been pointless to do so since he is immune to such attacks. While easily noticeable as the least strategic member of his own crew, due to his tendency to simply barge in head- first into battle, Luffy is a highly adaptive combatant. He is constantly coming up with ways to keep ahead of his foes, either by taking advantage of his own strength and Devil Fruit powers or utilizing the opponent's own strengths (along with their weaknesses) against them. This causes even warriors long considered unbeatable to have trouble keeping up.

Luffy has gained extraordinary stretching powers from eating the Gum-Gum Fruit, which is one of the rare and legendary Devil Fruits. After consuming the Gum-Gum Fruit, Luffy's body became like rubber, giving him the ability to stretch long distances. Having trained hard for ten years, Luffy is able to supplement his stretching powers with immense strength, agility, and creativity in combat. His fighting style is largely improvised, and heavily reliant on his Devil Fruit. It should be noted, Luffy can't automatically stretch his limbs since his body acts more like a rubber band, thus has to throw some force into it in order for his limbs to stretch out, though it seems that he has managed to be able to do it automatically after the two years of training. However, he can hold his limbs outstretched for a long time. Luffy uses his stretching power in ingenious ways. He is able to use the malleable stretchiness of his limbs to gain tremendous velocity and hit enemies with devastating impact. His rubber body is also extremely durable and virtually immune to blunt objects such as bullets, punches and electricity, bouncing off his body harmlessly or canceling out attacks. However, he is still normally susceptible to sharp objects such as swords and knives as well as nonphysical attacks like heat, cold, dehydration and poison. Not only can he use his ability to increase the range and strength of his attacks, but he can also use it to restrain and even control foes like puppets.

His Gear Second is where Luffy uses his legs to pump blood throughout his body at a much faster rate. Activating Gear Second also uses a lot of stored energy from his body. Leaving his body exhausted, his heart rate also increases to levels that are normally impossible. His veins are able to withstand this, thanks to the Gum-Gum Powers. In this form, Luffy gains a considerable boost in speed and strength. Rob Lucci mentions that this ability is similar to steroids because his muscles are receiving enough blood to do things otherwise impossible. Rob Lucci also noted that Gear Second does damage to Luffy's own body and in turn drastically reduces his stamina and his lifespan begins to diminish.

His Gear Third is where Luffy pumps air through his bones to make them literally gigantic. Obviously, only Luffy can do such a thing by using the Gum-Gum Powers. Used with his already-strong physiology, this apparently gives his arm more mass and a larger area to attack with far greater force, but he sacrifices mobility for this strength, as his limbs are now so large that Luffy has extreme trouble moving unless he is in his Fusen form. Another after effect of this is that Luffy is reduced to child-sized proportions, the duration of which is equal to the time he spent in Gear Third. Also, he is able to use both gears at the same time which he uses to defeat Gecko Moria. But somehow, his Gear Third would increase the size of the majority of Luffy's arm, thus reducing the speed of the attack in exchange for a powerful impact.

He is also heavily susceptible to any form of hypnotism and doesn't have the sense to turn away, such as Jango's powers of hypnosis or Miss Goldenweek's Colors Trap. He is also easily distracted when he sees something that's "just too cool", like seeing Chopper's transformations for the first time, the Thousand Sunny's Gaon Cannon, an energy beam from a Pacifista, or his wax armor made from Mr. 3's Wax-Wax powers, ignoring everything around him. Luffy also has the mysterious and uncanny ability to, while completely asleep, eat as if he were awake, even able to know when more food has been placed on the table. This is probably purely based on muscle memory since what Luffy does best is fighting and eating. Another one of Luffy's weakness is the inability to draw. Luffy is a disaster when it comes to doing simple errands. Everything he tries to do or help with only ended up turning out to be worse. Even a simple errand like purchasing water ends up with him being chased by the Marines. In fact it has gotten to the point where Luffy has to have a chaperone if he is only going to explore so as not to cause trouble, or do anything stupid, and even then it isn't guaranteed that he won't. Even though Luffy is a sailor, and what more, the captain of his ship, he has no sense of direction. He believes that if one is to go north, he has to head in a "cold-ish" direction. As a result of this, coupled with his ability to get stuck in certain situations, he tends to arrive barely in time to fight his opponent. One of Luffy's greatest advantages is that people actually tend to underestimate him. Either due to his bounty, or his actions, or their own arrogance, his opponents usually take him lightly before discovering Luffy's great strength and determination. Because he is underestimated, his opponents, which include the Warlords of the Seas, tend to let down their guards, allowing Luffy to gradually learn and adapt his fighting style accordingly. Though not exactly a skill or ability, Luffy is said to have incredible luck. His luck is so great that people around him, like Smoker, Ivankov, Elder Nyon and even his own crew, think that they were miracles, or even divine intervention. According to Dracule Mihawk, Luffy has the most dangerous ability in the world which is that of turning anyone around him into his allies, including former enemies. Luffy's powerful charisma has earned him many powerful friends and allies at times of need, allowing him to escape the tightest situations. Like all Devil Fruit users, Luffy cannot swim. However, unlike other Devil Fruit users, he does not avoid water sports, and sometimes will jump into the ocean to save someone from drowning (though will drown himself as well). Luffy could not swim before eating his Devil Fruit so this has made little difference in this capacity.

   Luffy 's Blurbs
About me:

Who I'd like to meet:

Bio
Luffy was born in Foosha Village on May 5th. Six years after his birth, he met a band of pirates led by a kind pirate captain named Red-Haired Shanks. Luffy befriended the band of pirates and from that moment on, wanted to become a pirate as well. Luffy stabbed himself with a knife just under his left eye to show that he was tough enough to join Shanks's crew. On the day Shanks and Higuma, a local mountain bandit that insulted Shanks and his crew, Luffy accidentally ate a Devil Fruit known as the Gum-Gum Fruit and unwittingly turned himself into a rubber man/boy. Initially this situation affected Luffy badly as it meant he could never be able to swim again, which was a great weakness to anyone who would journey the seas. This, however, didn't deter Luffy's dream and Luffy was once again determined to become a pirate. Later, Luffy stood up to Higuma on behalf of Shanks. He was easily defeated, however, and became a hostage. His captors were defeated by the Red-Haired Pirates, but the bandit leader Higuma had fled out to sea with Luffy. While out at sea, Higuma threw Luffy in the ocean, only to be attacked by a sea king moments later while he was laughing at Luffy. Higuma was eaten, but Shanks managed to save Luffy, though the incident cost Shanks his left arm. Shortly after, Shanks set sail along with his crew, but before leaving, he and Luffy promised each other that one day Luffy would surpass Shanks and become the Pirate King. Shanks then left Luffy his straw hat as a parting gift, telling him to return it once he surpassed him.

Sometime later, Monkey D. Garp takes Luffy into the care of Dadan, which is the first time Luffy meets Portgas D. Ace. Garp took him to Dadan, while Luffy refused. Garp picked him up, knocked on the door and put him down. He then gets spit on by the newly arrived Ace, angrily looking at each other. Thinking back about the recent incident with Higuma, he tells Dadan and the rest of the bandits that he hates them. Dadan bitterly scolds the young kid for saying something like that, telling him he should stay there or starve to death. Luffy takes a look at the meat-eating Ace, asking if he can have a piece. He then gets scold by Dadan, telling him he can do it with rice and water, but he sees Ace leave and follows him. Luffy says to Ace that he is not angry at Ace for spitting on him (since it is not something to get worked out about) and wants to be friends. Ace responds by knocking a tree down at Luffy. Luffy then follows Ace across a bridge. Ace notices him and knocked him off the bridge. Luffy returns to Dadan's house a week later and tells Dadan that he was being chased by wolves and fell off a cliff. Luffy gets sent off to bed. The next day, Ace goes out again and Luffy follows wanting to start a friendship only to get shunned by Ace. After three months of persistently trying to follow Ace, Luffy eventually comes across the Gray Terminal. Luffy overhears Ace and Sabo's conversation about buying a pirate ship. Luffy shows up to them and says that he wants to be a pirate too. Ace and Sabo then tie Luffy to a tree and decide that they should kill Luffy to keep their secret safe. While Luffy panics, Ace and Sabo have a hard time deciding who should kill Luffy since both Ace and Sabo have never killed anyone before. They hear someone coming and they untie Luffy and go hide. Porchemy of the Bluejam Pirates arrive searching for stolen money. Luffy then wanders off and get caught by Porchemy. Luffy yells out Ace's name. Porchemy, who recognizing the name, takes Luffy away for interrogation.

Porchemy then drags Luffy into a small house and ties him up. Luffy says that he is not going to say anything. Porchemy then hits Luffy with a giant hammer, but that did not harm Luffy due to his Devil Fruit powers. Porchemy then uses spiked gloves and no matter how many times Porchemy beats Luffy, Luffy refuses to yield. Porchemy, who has lost his patience, draws a sword and is about to kill Luffy. Ace and Sabo arrive, cut Luffy loose, and defeat Porchemy. Out in the woods, Ace asks Luffy why he did not tell Porchemy about the whereabouts of Ace and Sabo's treasure. Luffy then tells Ace that he wants a friend, he has no parents with him, and he hates to be alone. After that, Luffy joins Ace and Sabo and the trio start making a name for themselves. After that, they go to hunt gators, look for trash in the Gray Terminal, and eat and run. However, while they were running from the restaurant, a man called out Sabo's name, causing Luffy and Ace to question him. Sabo says that the man who called out to him was his dad, a noble. He tells the others about his past and then says that he wants to be free as a pirate and write a book about the world. Everyone soon realizes that they can not agree to be on the same pirate ship as captain, so Ace came up with an idea; he told Luffy and Sabo that they can become brothers by exchanging drinks. As long as they have this bond, it will not matter where they are.

But one day, everything changed; Sabo's father hired Captain Bluejam to bring back Sabo and get rid of Luffy and Ace. Sabo begged his dad to tell Bluejam to stop hurting them and he'll do whatever command his dad wanted. Ace tries to stop him from leaving but the poor kid just walks away with his dad with tears rolling down from his face. After Sabo๏ฟฝs death Luffy who was still mourning Sabo, asks Ace to never die, in which Ace makes the promise to Luffy that he won't leave his "crybaby brother" alone. Luffy then decides that he wants to be much stronger. After years of training, stealing food from the royal town and growing with Ace, Luffy witnesses Ace's departure at seventeen with Luffy being fourteen. Waiting three more years, Luffy decided to train some more, finally mastering his Gum-Gum Pistol. Ready to depart when he turned seventeen, he thanked Dadan, the bandits, then waved goodbye to the rest of the village, saying he was the third, after Sabo and Ace, to depart.

Over time he develops a pirate crew of his own. Because he is the captain and recruited all the crew mates personally, Luffy cares tremendously for his crew. As far as captaincy to Luffy is concerned, he sees his other crewmates as equals in contrast to other pirate captains, who mostly sees theirs as subordinate underlings, his crew mostly calls him by name, rather than with an honorific or "Captain". In fact, it could be argued that he is the only one that is generally beaten up and ordered around on the ship, especially by Nami who never hesitates to give Luffy a beating for his idiocy. Luffy only pulls rank when he wants to go "adventuring", despite what his crew thinks. Much like his idol, Shanks, Luffy is the kind of benevolent pirate captain who doesn't seek to actively harm others unless they give him and his crew, or anyone he cares about for a very good reason to. However, he was willing to start a fight with Blackbeard over a difference in opinion on pie. And as the Straw Hat Captain, Luffy has utmost faith in his crew. Luffy also has the rare ability to cheer up just about anyone with his idiotic antics, even pulling a smile every now and then from the serious Zoro and Robin.

Relationships

His Love

His Crew

RONRONOA ZORO: Zoro was the first crewmate to join the Straw Hat Pirates. He a bounty hunter who decided to serve under Luffy as a pirate after he saved his life from a dishonorable death at the hands of a corrupt marine, but vowed if Luffy ever got in his way of his ambition, he will kill him. As time passes, they have developed a very close bond which is underlined by their tremendous amount of trust and respect for one another, to the point where Zoro is willing to die for Luffy's dream to become Pirate King and sacrifice his own dream of becoming the world's greatest swordsman.

NAMI: Nami is the navigator of the crew. Though she respects him as a captain, Nami often scolds Luffy's airheadedness, but he never gets angry at her, even when she manipulates him. Luffy also has no problems taking orders from her when it comes to the navigation of the ship. During the early days, Nami was the one Luffy entrusted his hat to during battles, showing a rather powerful trust between the captain and his navigator.

USOPP: Usopp os the sharp shooter or the crew. Luffy's relationship with Usopp is perhaps the closest example on the ship of a sibling relationship because of their similar pasts and funloving mindsets. Though Usopp is a coward by nature, at times finds the strength within himself by following the example set by Luffy. When he exclaimed that he was good with cannons, Luffy immediately made him the gunner. When Usopp left the crew, Luffy and Chopper were the most depressed about the event, but also joyously accepted him back after he apologized and begged to rejoin the crew.

SANJI: Sanji is the chief of the crew. He adores Sanji's cooking, especially meat, dropping anything he's doing for a meal despite Sanji's claim that he puts considerably less effort into Luffy's food than the meals he prepares for the women. Sanji is also usually the one who has to "discipline" Luffy when ever food is stolen. Despite this, Sanji put his life on the line for Luffy's sake when Bartholomew Kuma had them weakened.

TONY TONY CHOPPER: Chopper is the doctor of the crew, as the youngest of the crew, often joins him and Usopp in singing and fooling around, he credits Luffy for helping him find the courage to go on adventures. Chopper also often tends to jump after Luffy whenever his captain starts drowning, despite being unable to swim himself. Luffy has deep faith in Chopper's doctoring skills, as when he explained that the 'candy' that the giant children were eating was in fact a dangerous drug, he broke a promise with one of them to bring some more 'candy'.

NICO ROBIN: Robin is the Arcaeologist of the crew. She is especiallygrateful to him for taking her in despite the risks it involved as well as for pursuing her all the way to Enies Lobby and directly opposing the World Government. He will always ask Robin to explain something to him about a new person, place, or thing they meet. She at first joined the crew because Luffy had saved her life when she wished to die, and had nowhere else to go, but eventually all of the crew members became important to her personally.

FRANKY: Franky is the shipwright of the crew. He is always amazed by Franky's building talent. He also deeply respects him as a man after he was willing to show his genitals to everyone without shame and begging Robin not to rip them off, so he would still be a man when he joins the crew. After the reuniting, with Franky looking and acting even more robotic, he has become even more amazed.

BROOK: Brook is the musician of the crew, he is often requested by Luffy to perform a song and will often join Luffy, Usopp and Chopper in immature antics. Luffy had always stated that he wanted a musician in the crew, so Brook's job is very important to him. This relationship is strengthened by the fact that Brook was part of the Rumbar Pirates, the crew that were such good friends with Laboon, and promised to meet up again.

His Family

MONKEY D. DRAGON: Luffy has discovered that Dragon the Revolutionary, the most wanted man in the world, is his father. The two have yet to talk to each other. In fact, their only meeting was when Dragon rescued Luffy from being captured by Smoker in Loguetown, and the only thing Luffy said to him was "who's there?" while being pinned headfirst to the ground by Smoker. It is highly probable that Dragon cares for his son's life because he saved him in Loguetown and he always looked towards East Blue where his family lived. Dragon seems to expect great things from Luffy, much like his grandfather. However, unlike Garp, Dragon seems content with letting him find his own place in the world, although he believes they will meet someday. Luffy was unaware of who Dragon was before he was told by Garp and didn't understand what the revolutionaries are capable of doing to the world when told about it by Ivankov. So far Luffy hasn't mentioned anything about how he feels toward Dragon and his ideals, but he is fine with people knowing that he is Dragon's son.

PORTGAS D. ACE: At first "Fire-Fist"Ace never liked Luffy, only thinking of him that he was annoying. But over time, they became very close to each other. They grew up together and fought every day, with Ace always winning even though Luffy had eaten a Devil Fruit. Luffy displayed no grudge against Ace for always winning, but instead boasted that he could win now (though he appears to still acknowledge that Ace is still the stronger of the two). Despite the battles they fought, Ace was protective of Luffy from Garp's abusive nature even going as so far to insult him to stop abusing Luffy. Some time later, Ace and Luffy does a blood oath where the two becoming blood brothers.

MONKEY D. GRAP: Though the two of them get along fine, Luffy is utterly terrified of his grandfather Garp. This is due to the extreme training he was put through in his younger years in his bid to make Luffy a Marine, as well as Garp's tendency to punch Luffy to discipline him. Garp had high expectations for Luffy, but to Garp's dismay, Luffy didn't share his grandfather's plans for his future. However, Garp respects Luffy as a great person, even if he is a pirate. He often brags about Luffy to his superior Sengoku, laughing whenever Luffy does something audacious and is prone to saying "That's my grandson" much to Sengoku's exasperation. When Sengoku was talking with Garp and Kuma, Garp said that Luffy isn't the type of person to brag about defeating someone of Moria's caliber, arguing that Bartholomew Kuma did not need to kill Luffy to keep Moria's defeat a secret. All and all, Grap and Luffy are still enemies, all because he is a pirate, and Grap is a marine.

SABO: Sabo was never an actual member of Luffy's family, but he, Luffy and Ace shared a drink making them official brothers. They seem to be reasonably close though not as deep as Ace and Luffy, this is most likely because they did not spend as much time together as he was taken away and they never saw each other again. He still had a tendency to defend or save him when they were children hunting together. Even though when he first met him he wanted to kill him for discovering their plans. According to Luffy, when they were young, Sabo was a nicer brother to him than Ace. After Sabo and Ace fought together against Porchemy to save Luffy's life they became friends. At this point they were seen after different events of stealing and hunting. Sabo was seen being taken back by his father, who recently revealed that he was the son of a Goa Kingdom Noble. They show a relationship of trust and love since he gave up and returned with his father so that Luffy and Ace would be safe from the hired pirate Bluejam. When Sabo's death was reported by Dogra, Luffy cried all night until he fell asleep. Luffy only snapped out of this sorrowful moment when Ace told him to live proudly, as Sabo would have wanted. In a way, Sabo contributed into molding Luffy into the free-willed and selfless character he is now.
