Sigrid was born in Norway on a cold winter night to two normal human parents. Though the circumstances of her birth were far from normal. Just minutes before she was born a massive lightning storm hit the town that she was being born in. Though even this freak lightning storm was not normal. Worlds away, far from earth, in a relm where Gods and Monsters reside; Loki, the trickster god, had laid a trap for his brother, Thor, trapping him in the under world with his Daughter, Hela. The goddess of death had Thor bound in a cage, one he could not escape despite his immense strength. Stripping him of his weapons and other equipment. Loki had planned to keep Thor trapped there until Ragnarok, the end of the world in Norse Mythology. But Hela had other plans. She had decided to kill Thor right then and there and attempt to throw off the propheszed end of the world. Loki was surpprised at this daughter's defiance of the prophecy, and though he would love nothing more than to see Thor dead, he could not interfere with events that were already set in stone. At the last moment before Hela could end Thor's life he cast a spell that tore Thor's soul from his body. Hela was enraged by this act and attacked Loki, attempting to kill him as well as reclaim Thor's soul. In a moment of panic Loki sent Thor's soul to Midgard, earth, but without destination. He knew that it was possible that Thor's soul would not be compatible with the human it merged with, it would either consume the vessle's soul, replacing it entirely, destroy both Thor's soul and the host's at the same time, or merge with it completely.
Thor's soul found it's way to Sigrid as she was being born. His soul fused with Sigrid's perfectly, and the moment the two soul's were fused together a bolt of lightning hit the hospital and caused a power outage that spanned the entire town. In the darkness of the hospital only one source of light remained. A small, quiet baby girl who's body would periodically arc with electricity. Though after a few moments this stopped, though the doctors were no less dumbfounded about the strange events that accompanied this child's birth.
In spite of the odd circumstances of her birth Sigrid lived a normal life, though she herself was far from normal. Her parents traveled a lot and it allowed her to see lots of things and experiance different cultures. And she was interested in many things such as Ancient Warfare, Archery, Swordsmanship, she was a natural and learning multiple languages, and graduated highschool at fourteen years old. Though one day when she was fifteen years old and visiting a museum dedicated to norse mythology she found herself wandering over towards the exhibits dedicated to the Norse God of Thunder, Thor. She learned that Thor is the hammer-wielding Ęsir god of thunder and lightning, associated with storms, oak trees, strength, hallowing, fertility, the protection of mankind and of the fortress of Asgard. The son of Odin All-Father and Jörš (the personification of Earth), he is physically the strongest of the Ęsir. The cognate deity in wider Germanic mythology and paganism was known in Old English as Žunor (Thunor) and in Old High German as Donar (runic žonar ᚦᛟᚾᚨᚱ), stemming from a Proto-Germanic *Žunraz, meaning "thunder".
As she wandered the exhibit and learned more of the Norse Diety she felt a strong connection to him, but didn't know why. She was so engrossed in what she was learning that she didn't even notice the lights flickering, or that electricity was arcing off of her body. The ground began to shake, but she was none the wiser. People began to run about, screaming in terror as the tremors began to intensify, and a powerful storm began to brew outside. Sigrid's parents called out to her, but she did not hear them, they tried to get to her, but the sparks that lashed off of her body kept them at bay. They realized that some how she was the cause of all of this and decided to evacuate as well, feeling as though she would be safe. Just as Sigrid's parents made it outside lightning blasted the building, destroying the entire structure leaving Sigrid standing among the rubble alone. Though she was changed. She now wore a warrior's breast plate, a large belt around her waist, shining, gleaming bracers on her wrists, and a large warhammer with a shortened shaft in her right hand. In that moment Thior's Soul spoke to her. He explained what had happened to her, and the situation with Loki and Hela. He explained that his body had been destroyed, but his soul now inhabited her body, fused with her own soul. She was now the God, no, the Goddess of Thunder. He would teach her to use her new powers and how to become an honorable warrior. Though he warned her that he life would be filled with danger from this moment onward. Sigrid accepted Thor's words and from that moment onward commited herself to her new path in life.
