04/24/2018 11:01 PM  A guide to Kinaran power supplies Energen; as described by Kinarans, is a primordial form of energy that is the life blood of both their species and the planet itself. It is an energy form that can take the form of other types of energy types merely by coming into contact with said energy. For example; when used on a device that requires electricity to power it energen will slowly convert itself into electricity in order to power the device. Energen is not limited to powering machinery however; it can be used to provide energy to life forms as well.  In addition to powering the technology of Kinara it is also the main food source for a kinaran. Every drop of kinetic, thermal, electrical and any other energy form is absorbed into a kinaran’s body and converted into energen to fuel their bodies as well as their abilities in the case of the new type kinarans. Another feature of energen is that unlike other forms of energy it is completely inert, meaning that there is no danger of causing any sort of volatile explosion regardless of how much energen is gathered, this extends to machinery and even vehicles powered by energen. Even if one were to attack an energen power source it would result in the released energy to be scattered into the air in the form of harmless specks of light. The vast majority of energen is converted from the deadly solar rays of Kinara’s blue sun via the same satellite network that protects the planet from being cooked by those very rays. The excess rays are collected and refined into raw energen then beamed down to the planet to be crystalized and divided for both domestic and military use. While this is the main means of producing it.   energen can also be made in smaller quantities with the use of gemstones by a unique fission process. When created this way the resulting crystals gain additional effects on top of providing power to whatever they are used on which is denoted by their colors. These added effects are temporary upon use but the energy itself remains until it is used up.  Red energen provides its user with a significant boost in physical strength shown by a red aura that envelopes their bodies. Under the effects of red energen one can push or pull something that usually took either his or her hands with single finger. Blue energen amplifies kinetics greatly, hinted by a blue aura those empowered by blue energen have their agility multiplied and are able to move and react at speeds far beyond their natural limits Yellow energen denoted by the matching aura it gives, amplifies energy projection abilities much in the same fashion that red energen bolsters physical strength. This boost ranges from adding special effects to already powerful energy blasts to amplifying weaker energy blasts to be on par with stronger ones. Those who do not possess the ability to project energy are instead provided with the ability to temporarily. Green energen accelerates a person’s metabolic rate shown by their green aura, this results in injuries that normally require days or weeks to heal to instead fully recover in mere minutes making it slightly more favored than the others. Violet energen; sometimes referred to as negative energen,  is technically not energen at all, it is a volatile substance that comes from what Kinaran’s call this universe’s “ negative dimension.” As such it is the anti-form of energy thus when it comes into contact with any form of energy the two cancel one another out leaving nothing, much like when matter collides with antimatter. While more organic life forms exposed to negative energen experience nothing more than a drained sensation from their energy being canceled out by it’s effects, it is very much a deadly toxin to Kinarans. In fact negative energen is hated so much by Kinarans that despite possessing the means to safely utilize the substance it is banned from both commercial and military use. 0 Comments

12/06/2013 04:26 PM  Data Ozma was born during the second half of the civil war of his people just after his father had forced the separatist army off of the planet. Both of his parents had hoped to end the war quickly so that he could live A peaceful life. However the separatist proved to be quite tenacious in their efforts to establish A new regime on Kinara. The war however turned out to be the least of Ozma's troubles. Both of his parents had earned time away from the war and wisely decided to spend it with their now 4 cycles (11 Earth years) old son. However during the trip to the destination of their vacation their shuttle was attacked by pirates. Ozma's father was able to stave off the attack but the shuttle was damaged and sent on a course to a singularity nearby. In an act of selflessness Ozma stayed on the shuttle to rescue a stranded passenger, the act cost him his escape and he was left hurtling towards the singularity. His parents grieved at their lost for several days. As luck would have it however the singularity turned out to be a wormhole which threw him all the way into an unfamiliar galaxy where he would crash land on an even more unfamiliar planet called Earth. Fortune seemed to smile on the boy once more as the planet; although slightly cooler at times, shared a great deal of similarities to Kinara. Even the natives known as humans bore a close resemblance to his race. Using this to his advantage Ozma was able to blend in with the populace and within a year was able to rebuild the shuttle and fly back through the mysterious wormhole that brought him here. Needless to say his parents would shed tears of joy the moment he got back to his homeworld.  The civil war took a turn for the worst and Kinara was nowhere near defeating the separatists. When Ozma reached his 7th cycle he joined the junior military academy deciding to do his part in the war effort. His first few cycles there were not easy for him as he had difficulty learning to properly use the energy controlling powers he was born with, the other students often ridiculed him calling him an insult to his father's legacy. His self esteem shot, Ozma was about to quit the academy when an ambush by the separatists isolated the academy and trapped him and the rest of the students there. Unable to produce soldiers with the same energy controlling powers the Kinarans had, the separatists opted to capture "specimens" to learn the secrets to this evolutionary feat. Cut off from outside help Ozma was forced to rally the undertrained students to fight back and try and buy time for help to arrive. Ozma demonstrated outstanding leadership capabilities and even managed to gain control of his power with the aid of a battlesuit he managed to build during the raid. When the academy was wrested from the grip of the separatists Ozma was hailed a hero by the students and the rest of the planet as well. When Ozma reached his 11th cycle he joined his father's regiment in the war. The father and son both fought valiantly slowly turning the tide of the war in their favor, All that came to end during a mission to liberate A planet called Morges. It was the bloodiest battle to date. The separatist were throwing everything they had trying to hold the planet and the Kinarans were suffering for it. At some point during the battle Ozma disobeyed the retreat order to rescue his father whom had been caught in an ambush. Just as he had found his missing father another ambush caught him off guard and killed his father. In a fit of Rage Ozma attempted to destroyed everything around him but was eventually subdued by the separatists whom took him prisoner, thankfully a rescue operation got him away from his captors before he could be taken to be dissected. Back at home, after being reprimanded for insubordination Ozma was promoted to take his father's place as the commander of his regiment. Ozma would continue doing his people and his late father proud over the next few cycles winning battle after battle and doing his best to ensure the survival of his regiment. Eventually things would quiet down some and separatist activity would be at a minimum. Some dared to say that the war was in its finale. However Ozma and his regiment were called to action when an unknown force had seized control of his mother's research base on Kinara's moon. The operation was proceeding just as planned and he and his unit quickly secured the facility. However everything took a turn for the worst when an unexplained explosion wiped the entire facility; as well as the occupants, out except for Ozma. A tribunal was immediately held and he was blamed for everything. With that he was stripped of his rank discharged from the military and exiled from his homeworld. Bitter after losing everything dear to him Ozma roamed his home galaxy where he became the mercenary for hire that he is to this day. After earning enough from several contracts he rediscovered the wormhole that brought him to the Milky Way galaxy and opted to use it to take him away where he would establish his current residence on Earth working for whoever, doing whatever simply to get by. 0 Comments

12/02/2013 02:17 PM  The Planet Kinara The planet kinara is a moderate sized planet within A "Out of the way" ring galaxy. The planet itself orbits a blue giant at A close proximity that would normally cook all life within the planet. It is thanks to the Kinaran's scientific ingenuity that planets' life is not incinerated by the incalculable amounts of solar rays that emanate from such A hot star. Long ago before anyone even knew of the Kinarans their planet was actually much further away from its star; at the perfect orbit for life to flourish, but even at this perfect orbit the planet was still bombarded by heavy doses of deadly radiation which would kill most other life forms. In addition to A slightly stronger magnetic field the inhabitants were also adapted specifically for such an inconvenience and thus are not only immune to such toxic levels and high temperatures but some have actually evolved to thrive on it. However A cataclysmic event of unknown origin sent the planet spiraling out of its orbit and towards the sun. At the time the Kinarans were already well versed in science and technology mainly due to their unique physiology. They were creatures that used different forms of energy as sustenance which is believed to be the result of evolution to better adapt to the planets relentless star. Their unique diet of energy forms somehow speeds up the development of their brains which accounted for their high degree of intelligence. After the planet was knocked from its orbit its closer proximity to its sun caused it to receive even heavier doses of radiation.  Needless to say the catastrophic event burned nearly all life on the planet away. Save for the Kinarans and a handful of flora and fauna were able to survive it but it would not be for long. It was thought that since it would take it's decaying orbit several hundred years to actually collide with the planet the main focus should be on restoring the devastated biosphere. However the Kinarans soon discovered the danger posed directly to them; prolonged overdose caused them to reach a state of critical mass which caused them to spontaneously burst into pure energy and scatter with the winds. This however was a blessing in disguise as the extra exposure also bolstered their intelligence allowing them to jump their own technological advances three hundred years. This was so much of a leap that they were able to devise A three part operation to not only stop their planet's inevitable demise but also restore the life that was lost within the time frame of an Earth month. The Kinarans constructed seven large orbital platforms that encircled the planet and projected an energy field that would amplify the planet's natural magnetic field to make it just strong enough to shield the planet from the excess radiation. With this task the Kinarans moved to build a super massive gravity well generator around the planets core which would slowly alter the planets course to gradually re-align it to its original orbit. This particular process would take several hundred cycles to complete during which time the third and final step would proceed which was the restoration of the planet's ecosystem. Today Kinara still has about 315 cycles left to be restored to its original orbit however much of the planets natural beauty has been restored. Many of the flora and fauna have been restored to acceptable levels though there is still a great deal to be done. Kinaran military is among the most highly advanced in its galaxy and perhaps all others nearby. Their warships are built with weaponry thought to be products which only fantasy could produce. Originally the majority of their army was automated however A recent civil war; which was the result of a disagreement of the planets' passive attitude towards invaders, forced the military to be bolstered with elite, specially bred commandos known today as newtype Kinarans. These newtypes are essentially the next step in the races' evolutionary line, they are capable of not only absorbing large amounts of energy but are able to make use of it as opposed to simple metabolizing it all. They are capable of using their stored energy to power their equipment and even firing it off in the form of natural attacks should they find themselves dangerously underequipped. Extremely skilled newtypes are capable of even forming complex constructs out of the energy forms they are capable of manipulating. There are three known Newtypes with only one prototype that is actually only exists in the form of a rumor.   Alpha: Alpha types were; as their nickname suggests, were the first ones to have been bred. They possess the energy manipulating abilities and capacity mentioned earlier and make up the bulk of the newtype forces.   Notable Alphas: Akim (first successful bred and Ozma's father), Arkon (the true first bred but was terminated due to psychological breakdown.)   Beta: Beta types are the second types that were developed but are not technically a direct part of their forces. They were developed with augmented intelligence and were used to form a team of next generation scientists that would jump their technology several decades to give Kinara the technological edge over their separatist foes which they battle to this day. Their overly developed minds allow them to process information at speeds that make them seem almost omniscient and as a result they are capable of creating just about anything they can imagine simply by having a coffee break with one another. Since they are responsible for the technological marvels they bring to battle the other newtypes affectionately refer to them as crown jewels of Kinara and give their lives to ensure their safety without a second thought.    Notable Betas: Viola (Ozma's mother)   Gamma: Gamma types are a newer breed developed with entirely different abilities that almost make them seem as if they were altogether a different species. Rather than weaponizing the energy they consume they use it to fuel a biological mass conversion process which allows them to convert any matter they make contact with into an entirely different shape and form of their choosing ranging from razor sharp diamond swords to fragile crystal glass. They need only know the atomic structure of the matter they wish to create and it becomes possible to make an object out of the element or compound in question. Their connection with mass allows them to learn new atomic formations simply by touch. By simply placing their hand upon an  object made from a substance they've never encountered they can see it's atomic structure and understand the exact amount of protons, electrons and or neutrons needed to replicate the substance or break it down in the case of breaking through a well armored foe. More skilled Gammas have been known to push their abilities to the next level allowing them to alter their own bodies and change shape and form. Though not as harmed by the cold as other Kinarans are they suffer from the same fatal flaw, a lack of an energy to sustain themselves results in their powers being unusable and is the equivalent of starvation, this is worse for them as their abilities use up more energy than their Alpha counterparts.   Notable Gammas: Kareem (Ozma's best friend and second in command to his old team.)   Delta: These newtypes only exist in rumor spread amongst the separatist forces. Nothing about them is confirmed, Their abilities, whom amongst the newtypes are one or even their existence. The separatist believe that they are in fact a cross breed possessing the incredible mind of a Beta and the toughened energy manipulating body of an Alpa. The only one who truly knows if there truly is a Delta type is the famous Beta Viola however she and the answer to the mystery that is the Delta type vanished during the failed rescue attempt at her research facility based on Kinaras' moon. It is believed that before her facility was attacked she had been working on developing a means to instill technopathic abilities into a newtype, that information however was classified to the point of being just as much of a rumor as the existence of Delta types.   Notable (Not known to be) Deltas: Ozma (He is completely unaware of this fact however and believes himself to be nothing more than an "in between" newtype made from the combined genetic material of his Alpha father and Beta mother.) The planet's environment never drops below 90 degrees Fahrenheit due to the heavy radiation from its sun and thus as stated before all lifeforms on the planet have adapted to the harsh climate.  Visitors are required to wear special shielding to protect them from the extreme radiation of the blue giant. Due to their technological superiority Kinarans keep mostly to themselves abhorring any form of meddling with the political affairs of other species. This "No meddling" policy is not to be mistaken for anti-socialism as they are very welcoming to visitors that come in peace and take the upmost care in seeing that their visitors have a comfortable time on their planet. Just about everything there has A severe aversion to cold climates 60 degrees and below and as such Kinarans; despite have all the technology needed to survive and be comfortable in it, make it A point to avoid arctic climates if they can help it. Due to its disrupted orbit most of the greenery was burned away leaving stretches of lifeless desert as far as the eye can see, however most of its greenery was restored thanks to the restoration efforts of the Kinarans. In respect for their shattered ecosystem the Kinarans themselves make their residences within the many acres that were already desert since before the incident. Because they feed on energy itself agriculture was never A need and thus Kinara possesses not a single acre of farmland, although they can consume actual food and drink and actually enjoy it from time to time, they do not gain A significant amount of nutrition from it and thus is an unreliable method to feeding.   0 Comments
