Greetings
Hey, welcome to my page. This character is here for those who are interested in Role-Playing long term and short term stories. Her name is Shuzaya and she is a duelist. She specializes with the sword, but her competitive nature and willingness to learn has her open to taking part in duels and competitions that might not directly suit her. She travels the world, seeking out those who can challenge her in various ways and those that can teach her.
The premise behind this character is that she is a person you can befriend and interact with in many different ways. She is able to take part in long thought out stories, or a quick and dirty duels that have little thought put into them or something in between, like improvised stories and adventures. Her destiny is not set in stone and she has a lot to learn in life. If you're interested in influencing her fate and possibly making a friend, a rival, or even an enemy out of her, then take a look over the rest of this page to find out if we have any interests in common.
Interests
Honesty -- Hey now, you don't have to lie to me to get what you want. I want to help you out and the best way I can do that is if you tell me what you want. I'll be honest with you as well. Sorry, but I might be a bit blunt sometimes, but at least you'll know where I stand. Don't be afraid to tell me no if it comes to that.
Long-Term Relationships -- I want my character to make friends, rivals, enemies, and maybe even lovers. It takes dedication to keep a Role-Play going long-term, but if you think you've got what it takes let's get to developing stories and events.
Continuity -- I want the decisions and experiences of our characters to carry over to future Role-Plays. In order for that happen, we have to...
Finish Our Role-Plays -- I don't want us to get stuck in a Role-Play that never ends. We can close out a scene and start another one, that way things stay fresh and there is a chance for time to pass.
Flexibility -- I try to be as flexible as possible when it comes to Role-Playing. I want to have fun and even more so I want YOU to have fun.
Discussion/Improvising -- I like to discuss my Role-Plays at least a tiny bit before we start, but that is certainly not mandatory. We can start and have fun improvising a scene and seeing where it takes us. Just tell me the setting and I'll show you how it's done.
Group Activities -- I don't mind Role-Playing with more than one person at once in a single Role-Play. It takes a little more effort squeezing in more characters into a story, but it shouldn't be a problem if it's what we want. This usually happens in groups or blogs.
Spar/Fighting -- I have a mild interest in Role-Plays that are focused around combat, whether it's just a friendly spar, something competitive, or for story purposes.
Party Up -- Traveling the world can be much easier if our characters team up and tackle problems together. It might only be briefly, or it might be something long term. Will they be able to stand one another?
Goals -- Our characters should all have one or more, but will they ever achieve them and what are they willing to do in order to reach them?
Themes
Fantasy -- A world filled with things my character has never seen or experienced. Things like magical artifacts, dangerous monsters, grumpy wizards, dwarfs, cities of gold, flying ships, furies, and more are just a small taste of the incredible things that can inhabit the places our characters explore.
Sci-Fi -- Advance technologies, time travel, space exploration, and settings that take place on other planets.
Action/Adventure -- Exploring new places and getting into trouble is sort of what this character is all about. Visiting big cities, small villages, scaling mountains, sailing the seas, getting in trouble with the city guard, stumbling upon ancient battlefields, bounty hunting, pulling off huge heists, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and more. Our characters have goals. Where will their journey to achieve those goals take them?
Combat/Competition -- Scenes that pit one character against another. Whether it's a dangerous duel that could lead to serious injury, or something more lighthearted like an eating competition, our characters want to test their limits, improve themselves, and show that they're the best.
Slice of Life -- Not every Role-Play has to be an adventure. I don't mind slowing things down a bit and just dealing with the problems of our characters' everyday lives. These are sometimes the scenes that lead to adventures.
Drama -- Things won't always be so easy going. When the going gets tough characters might get serious and emotional. Death, betrayal, loss, and the threat of those can make situations tense.
Comedy -- It's fun and easy to just let loose and be fun with our scenes. Goofy situations, characters overreacting, jokes, and just an overall sillyness to the things our characters do and the reasons they do them.
Romance -- Who knows where her heart will lead this young woman. Don't force it and don't ask for a romance themed Role-Play. If it happens it happens.
Scene Ideas
The Task at Hand -- My character usually has at least one quest or goal she is working towards at any given moment (quests are listed to the left). Sometimes her quest has her exploring various leads that can take her to far off lands. Who will she meet during her journey? Will they be able to help her find what she is after and will they be willing to help? What will it cost her?
In most cases this will end with my character searching for someone to teach her a technique or ability she has heard of (or information on such). If your character can play that person then maybe we can RP a student/teacher relationship that has my character learning from yours. If your character doesn't know what she is after, but might know someone who does then your character can point her in the right direction and our characters will go their separate ways. Perhaps meeting again another day.
Uhg... Food... Need it... Soon -- This idea revolves around the idea that my character might not have been as prepared for traveling as she thought and after running out of food she is now nearly starving. Her immediate priory shifts to her finding food through means of hunting, fishing, traps, or buying some in the case she is in or near a city.
There are a lot of ways we can play this scene. The setting will have a strong influence on this scene. If the setting is in the wilderness, my character might want to try and catch something to eat, if she is in the city, then maybe she is out of money and needs to complete a job so she can afford to buy food. Maybe she runs into your character out in the wilderness in a similar situation as her and the two of them team up in an attempt to catch something big. Maybe my character stumbles upon your camp while you're in the middle of cooking up some kind of meal (or vice versa). Will they be willing to share and will they want something in return?
One last food related idea has your character and my character walking into a shop at near the same time. Both of them have heard the shop specializes in some kind of treat or meal that they make only a few a week. Both of our characters want to try it, but the two of them soon realize there is only one left. Their eyes look at the last order then to each other. Will they fight for it?
I've Heard of You -- Your character or my character recognize the other and has heard of their skill in combat (or other talents). They wish to challenge the other to a duel to see which of the two of them is better and maybe learn something along the way. That duel could be any number of things, a combat situation, a race, an eating competition, etc..
Mercenary Work -- Shuzaya needs money for food and shelter so she often seeks out jobs
that she might be capable of doing. Maybe your character and her sign up for the same job and end up working together, or maybe even competing against one another (such as going after the same bounty)? Maybe your character is the one that hires her?
There are a lot of different types of jobs that we can use, but here are a few examples: Bounty hunting, escort missions/bodyguard, finding lost items/people/pets,
solving various mysteries, rescue missions, item retrieval, teaching a skill/talent, item delivery, etc.
Lost -- Getting lost in the middle of a jungle, desert, or countryside can be dangerous. After losing her way, my character struggles to find food/water while also trying to get unlost when she bumps into your character. Are they lost, too? Can they work together?
A Local Competition -- The village/city my character is visiting is holding an annual competition and she wants to enter. The type of competition can vary. Things like races, fighting tournaments, eating competitions, tests of strength/agility, etc. Does she meet your character there?
Are there teams, or will they be competing against one another? Are there certain restrictions to the competition (males only) that she has to try and sneak past?
Your Ideas -- I want to hear the ideas you have for a Role-Play scene between us. The ideas I have listed above are not the only things I'm willing to play, they're just something to get the creative juices flowing; a starting point for more amazing ideas.
