Firella - or Basti Kawano, was born and raised in Oita Hita, Japan, living with her single mother. As a child, she was ostracized by her peers. They believed nothing good would come from befriending her, due to the ultimate end of her father, whose blame was pushed onto her vigilante, African American mother, who gave up her greater good vigilante work for the safety and comfort of her child. Despite the painful and obvious discrimination from her classmates, she had one true friend, who was there for her through thick and thin.
Saiyono Shinju became Basti's first and closest friend - even going as far as to help her get into her dream middle school. Although Basti got into fights and altercations - all for the protection of Saiyono at that - she worked hard to keep her grades afloat and her behavior decent enough to graduate. Giving the circumstances her, her mother, and Saiyono faced throughout her life thus far, Basti decided to become a hero, furthering her academic career at UA Academy, with the inclination of not wanting others to feel as small and helpless as her and the ones close and important to her had felt.
Get Back Up
Basti now shares an apartment with fellow hero The Aria Hero: Swansong upon reuniting after some time apart. When Firella isn't carrying out her hero duties, she's an environmental worker for Safe Burning areas. She burns dead and hazardous plants, keeping areas under control - much like a training course she once did at UA to help control/master her powers.
Despite the work she does as both a hero and with her environmental job, there are many people and heroes who are wary of her, due to her mother's vigilante past. Many refuse to acknowledge what sort of work her mother exactly was doing, only continuing to criticize what they don't/refuse to understand. Even so, Firella is devoted to her job, now working with Swansong and even occasionally working with her mother, who is now taking up hero work as well. (Age is 20s - 30s, but can be adaptable to mid-teens - late teens.)
The Spice
Basti's four main qualities are: Straightforward, blunt, lively, loyal. Along with that, she has a knack of picking up the role of the Leader and good at giving directions, with the heart of a hero.
If provoked during acts of heroism, she will lose control of her quirk and the luck of snapping her out of her rampage is little to none. Unless the person she's working with is able to keep her with a level head or able to snap her out of her antics, there will be a vast amount of damage to her doing.
Full Capacity
Heat/Fire Energy Manipulation - Firella can create, shape and manipulate extremely hot energy capable of burning anything it comes in contact with. She is also able to lessen/pause her quirk to produce a slower, more painful burn. Firella has a decent amount of physical strength and endurance from her training at UA as well as continuing her own personal training on the side afterwards. She is quick on her feet and is able to build up the pain from her injuries to make her attacks stronger.
