About me:
Who I'd like to meet:

THE BEGINNING

Luxifer comes from a chaotic place known as Mira which is inhabited by people that always have cruel intentions lingering over their shoulders. Luxifer's Father, Bear, was the uncaring, rude, Tyrant ruler of Mira. He often left for War and was hardly around Luxifer and his Mother Braela. He showed little concern for the family and forced Luxifer's Mother into doing unspeakable things despite her ill-fated status. His mother was weak and was often left incapacitated by an illness she had contracted during an exhibition in Japan. Luxifer was left to take care of her until her final day among the living. Luxifer was only 19. Luxifer also had two older brothers, Brody and Archer, that had been killed while in combat. Everyone except his Father attended their funerals.

5 weeks following the death of his Mother, Luxifer stayed around their classic-styled home playing the role of the son who held on to what little thread of sanity he had left. Upon the return of his Father, Luxifer was told that his Father's days in the line of combat were finally over and that he was going to groom Luxifer to follow in his footsteps. Luxifer hated this idea from the start, and he made a promise to his mother before her death that he would never become like his Father. He never wanted to rule anything and he always hated how his Father talked down to him for no proper reasoning at all. It was mind-boggling and Luxifer hoped to one day change that.

His Father started to force his teachings onto him, but Luxifer began to develop a rebellious outlook on the things that his father tried to make him do and say. He would sneak out during the night to flirt with his secret lover, and he would often arrange vacations and then cover them up as business trips to sway his Father's thoughts. However, growing increasingly suspicious over time, Luxifer's Father decided to send a spy to trail after Luxifer to see where he was going. The spy unearthed all of Luxifer's actions and his Father immediately put an end to all of his antics. Or... At least attempted to.

The days and nights that followed this discovery were a horrid sight to behold as Luxifer fought for his freedom, and his Father denied his pleas without a single thought about the situation. However, the fighting between the two would reach a climax in a very gruesome manner. The clock had just hit 1:00 am on the spot. Luxifers Father entered the kitchen to the sight of Luxifer making himself something to suffice his ever-growling tummy. Unfortunately, Luxifer neglected to remove the lipstick from his neck that he received after sneaking out to see the very same girl that his Father forbid him from seeing again. This caused his Father to be outraged at Luxifer for going against his wishes. His voice was so loud that anyone who lived near the Graelyn area would have surely heard every word that was spoken.

"You defy me, boy?! You are nothing but a disgrace to the Graelyn name! You were nothing more than a mistake. If I could go back in time then your days upon this earth would have never existed!"

Luxifer's Father roared out in an angry tone and grasped Luxifer's arm violently. This only caused Luxifer to become increasingly angry as well as clenched tightly onto the knife he held on to. His mind raced over a million thoughts at once. He was curious about how his next action would inflict upon his life as a human being. He was a bit hesitant at first, but then Luxifer twirled around with the knife and jabbed it straight into his father's ribcage. Blood splatter blanketed the walls as it squirted out from the slit that the knife had buried itself deep inside. Luxifer gazed into his dying Father's eyes as his pupils began to dilate. Luxifer's lips, although slightly curved, spread apart as a soft voice fell from his lips.

"No Father... You are a disgrace. You acted so lowly to me and my Mother..."

The body of his Father fell lifelessly to the floor with what Luxifer had told him being the last words he would ever hear again. Luxifer smiled looking over him. He had finally done it after so many years of torture. Luxifer had freed himself of his Fathers' Tyranny. After this, Luxifer planned to make it seem like kidnapping and murder. He staged the scene inside of the house and then packed his stuff as quickly as he could because in approximately 4 hours the Graelyn maid was set to arrive so that she could tend to her daily duties. Once all of this was done, Luxifer kicked open the back door of the Graelyn mansion and disappeared into the spine-chilling air of the night. This was only the beginning of what would come of Luxifer's journey into the world alone.

THE REUNION

In the wake of his Father's death, Luxifer caught a boat to a new country that was proudly named, Zekenia. When the boat finally arrived at this new country Luxifer became consumed with the thought of now being free to figure out what it is that he truly wants out of his life. Despite not knowing who any of the people in this new City was it appeared that all of the locals knew that Luxifer is the descendant of the well-known Graelyn family. Luxifer however was unmoved by the looks that people threw his way. He simply went to the nearest apartment building and rented it for 1 year exactly. Luxifer never planned to stay very long as he still wasn't as far away from his home as he would have liked to be. Especially with the death of his Father making the rounds in the news after his body was discovered by the Maid. The Detectives that were on the scene, at that exact time immediately placed Luxifer as the murderer due to the squalling neighbors. Because of this Luxifer's plan ultimately backfired. It was only a matter of time before somebody recognized him and then turned him in.

When Luxifer settled into his apartment the woman he loved and had left back in Mira was the only thing that ran rampant inside of his mind. He spent hours behind a desk writing a letter to her with his only source of light being a lit candle that was contained inside a classic glass casing. The letter he wrote described how much he had missed her and that he wanted her to meet him in Zekenia after a month's worth of waiting. The letters they sent back and forth to each other used fake names to confuse the mail guards' way of thinking and to allow them to speak freely to one another. These plans would never come to be.

The following day the remaining authorities of Mira were dispatched to find and bring Luxifer back to his birthplace for punishment, including the possibility of execution. They were permitted by every known country to cross territories to retrieve him. This greatly unsettled Luxifer because within only 5 hours the entire Mira military was on Zekenia grounds. They searched high and low before finally entering the apartment that Luxifer was holding up inside. Being as careful as he was he packed everything that he had carried with him escaped through the window and moved down along the side of the building in a very fashionable retreat. When the Mira General bashed through the apartment room door he knew almost instantly that Luxifer was not anywhere to be found in the room. His attention was drawn to the opened window right off the bat and he commanded his men to climb out the window and trail after the fleeing Luxifer.

However, unfortunately for them, Luxifers feet had already made contact with the concrete ground below before they could even slip their bulky bodies through the frame of the window. Luxifer then decided to use their sticky situation to his advantage as he walked away from and out of sight of the Military Generals' underlings. By the time they reached the ground, Luxifer was already un-locatable. Since Luxifer had no weapons on him he thought it would have been best to walk down a path of no violence for the time being. He only knew that he had to get away to a place that was left unaffected by the ruling of the Mira authorities.

Growing up Luxifer's Mother told him stories about her childhood and how her home along with the neighbors' homes had limited electricity. The people of that time were forced to garden for their meals as well as hunt to provide their families with a suitable living. It is even said that Luxifer's Grandfather still lived there. This would have been the perfect place for Luxifer to hide so that he could prepare for the inevitable battle that awaited him; the battle for his life. It was a very long trip that was agonizing for his joints. He consistently thought of peaceful things as a way of motivation to guide him through his troubles.

2 hours had flown by since Luxifer slipped through the hands of the Mira Military. The place he had been told about in the form of bedtime stories was only within the distance in a foggy blur. However, it would not be long before the place was reached. The concrete he walked upon began to deteriorate just as he drew closer to the place. This proved that this place was behind on the advancements that the main part of the city had received. Once Luxifer had arrived people were hanging off the side of porches and watching the young Luxifer as he made his way through the town like a lost puppy. This brought a strong hint of curiosity to the stare Luxifer had maintained as he motioned down the road.

Luxifer looked around for the house that his mother had described to him in the story. It was a good minute or so before Luxifer found it and just as he began to ascend the steps he was welcomed by a very old man who had greeted him with a hug. The old man brushed his chin against Luxifers shoulder as his weakened and tired old voice slithered out with an alarming message. As the word passed through the old man's lips Luxifer's eyes were as big as two full moons. It even sent shivers down his spine in the sheer realization that all the stories his mother had told him were true. "I am your Grandfather... I knew I would be seeing you soon after a messenger told us about what had happened in Mira. I forgive you for your actions, Luxifer. Inside my home, a sword and a gun await you...” The old man’s words played out and from there a sense of warmth took over Luxifer. It was just another brick in the wall as Luxifer viewed it. It could only get better from here.

THE AWAKENING

Resting within the hands of comfort Luxifer began his preparations for the inevitable approaching battle. Unknown to Luxifer the Mira Military were given last-second orders to trail after Luxifer during the night while he was sleeping. Until then everything seemed rather peaceful and Luxifer was able to do every day normal things for once... But like everything in this cruel world... It only lasted for a short while. When the night time had finally rolled around Luxifer stayed awake instead of embracing the slumber that was supposed to occur. As time would have it, 3 hours had passed before a series of heavy knocks echoed at the house's front door. During those 3 hours, Luxifer had slipped out of the house to train in the open field so that he could strengthen his skills even further which left his Grandfather alone in the house.

Feeling obligated to open the door after the obnoxious knocks continued to echo within the walls of the house, Luxifer's Grandfather then reached for the doorknob and gave it a slight twist before opening the door to the sight of something horrible. It was 5 men sent by the Mira Military, and without even asking if they could come in they shoved Luxifer's Grandfather aside and entered the house wielding large heavy guns. One of the Military men, who appeared to be the Leader of the group, searched all over the house before losing his temper and ultimately attacking Luxifer's Grandfather by picking him up by his collars and slamming him against a wall. The Mira Military Leader was determined to get some answers; because he had an undying feeling that Luxifer's Grandfather knew exactly where Luxifer had gone.

"Tell me... Where is your Grandson? Do not play stupid with me either. I have been in this game for decades. He was last seen coming to this area. If you do not cooperate with me then I will have no choice but to end your life for obstruction of justice."

Luxifer's Grandfather, with tears forming in his eyes, spat in the man’s face. Luxifer's Grandfather had nothing to lose since he had already lived a very long and fulfilling life. He was not going to blurt out that Luxifer was simply training in the field outside. That just goes to show how uneducated the Mira Military was. The Mira Military Leader threw Luxifer's Grandfather to the floor in retaliation for having spat in his face. It was the ultimate form of disrespect, and he planned on making the Old Man pay for his actions. Slowly, and very gradually, the Military Leader reached for his gun and aimed it at the back of the Old Man's head while he was down on his knees. The other Mira Military men simply stood around and chuckled. Such corrupted men...

"Your time on this earth has come to an end. I hope that you have had fun with your life, Old Man. You are so stupid... You should have just told us where your Grandson was. We would have willingly spared your life... But no more... Rest in peace...”

With those cruel words, a loud BANG sounded off inside the house. Screams and tears filled the streets as people rushed out of their houses to see what had happened. Luxifer was standing off in the field in shock when he heard the gunshot as well. Fearing for his Grandfather's life, Luxifer ran back toward the house preparing to fight and as soon as he opened the door he was met face-to-face with the Military Leader. A dark figure he was, standing over his Grandfather's lifeless body. This was unreal to Luxifer and it had finally set in that everyone he seeks help from will just end up dying at the hands of the now-corrupted Military of Mira.

"You have two choices, Luxifer... Come with us now or face the same fate as your Grandfather...”

By this point, Luxifer was already emotionally scarred and had nothing to lose, just like his Grandfather. However, he did not intend to go down without a fight. Swiftly, Luxifer's leg rose and kicked the gun out of the Military Leader's hand. At that exact moment, Luxifer quickly reached for his gun and pointed it at the Military Leader's head. The Leader was not even fazed and he even pressed his forehead against the barrel of the gun, speaking with a slight hint of laughter consuming his voice at that exact moment. This deeply confused Luxifer as he did not expect the Mira Military Leader to be this ballsy.

"Come now! Shoot me... I know you do not dare to shoot me between the eyes. I am not your Father... Your Father was weak. You tremble when confronted by a man such as myself... Full of merits, and a whole history of successful missions under my belt. If you don't kill me then I will just kill you instead. Despite them wanting me to take you in alive; I don't have to. I could just say that you lost your mind and snapped... And that taking you down was the sole option available...”

Without a single sign of hesitation, Luxifer pulled the trigger, and blood splattered everywhere. He couldn't risk being taken in or killed. Before the lifeless body of the Leader could even hit the floor Luxifer had already turned his gun on to the other men, killing the other 3 while sparing 1. However, before he let the sole survivor leave he made sure that he told the rest of the Military about what would happen to all of them if they continued to pursue him. Luxifer already knew that it would not end that easily. More bloodshed and suffering were on the way for Luxifer and it will only be a matter of time before he becomes a victim of his new lifestyle which was bestowed upon him by force. The war was only just beginning.

THE FATE OF MIRA

After such chaotic actions had transpired... Luxifer had rightfully earned himself a spot on the World's Most Wanted list. There was a large enough bounty that anyone would be willing to capture him and then turn him in by this point. He could trust nobody but himself. With no word or warning, Luxifer departed from the corpse-filled house before the bounty could even reach the small place he stayed in. Although his visions were blurred it was still clear to him that his road was coming to an end; Dead or alive... He was going to make the suffering cease to exist even if it forced him to use the innocent souls around him. But why should he even bother saving such a cruel place? Did he perhaps believe that everything would change under a nicer and more relaxed ruling?

He walked a lonely road for hours and by the time the new sunrise came to be... Luxifer was in a newer City called Korte'. It was notorious for wielding thieves and other anti-heroes/villainous characters behind its walls. He planned to build an army there so that he could invade Mira to take it back from the corrupted system that watches over it. Luxifer was only half of the way into the City before a sudden wave of calmness consumed him. A majority of the people there also had bounties on their heads from Mira, so they were not determined even in the slightest to collect his bounty. The beautiful thing however regarding Korte is that they withdrew from helping Mira over a decade ago over a verbal dispute between figureheads.

It did not take Luxifer long however as he quickly found a place to live. However, unlike before, he did not sign a bill for a year-long stay. Instead, he chose to sign it daily in the concern of being tracked to Korte and abruptly being forced to move once again. After Luxifer settled down he began to butt heads with the locals by persuading them to join him in the fight against Mira's Military so that its corrupted roots could be thoroughly cleaned once and for all. In only a matter of days, Luxifer gained a member base of at least 1,000 rebel soldiers. It was still not enough to take on Mira's Military but Luxifer believed that despite the odds being against them they could still win with the proper tactical skills when it came down to a fight.

Upon organizing the ranks and squads Luxifer was ready for war as soon as possible. He was anxious to get revenge for everything they have done to him already. With his hand gripping the taped handle of his Sword tightly, he could only think of the ways that he could butcher the head leader of the Mira Military. But as always he knew that he would have to be patient or else his attempt to overthrow the corrupt city of Mira would ultimately become a risk as an unfortunate result. He wanted this to work. He could not fail... Failure was not even an option. Everything, including Luxifer's future, lies in the balance of this plan succeeding beyond all else. When the time comes for Luxifer to throw down the sword then he undoubtedly would in a split second. Luxifer's pride was possibly one of the most predictable things about him as a whole.

When it was announced the following day that everything was in proper order, Luxifer arranged a meeting to take place later that day, so that the Head Captains could further discuss their plans to make sure that they are worthy enough to be followed through with. If they were viewed as unsuitable then the seemingly unsuccessful plans would be scraped from the battle formula that they were constructing together. The men in arms that lay stretched out around the portion of the City that they were held up inside of were only thinking about how their futures would be impacted by going through with something as crazy as this. Some of them became ill over the thought while others got excited due to their inner-murderous self. They knew it was not something to be proud of, but they knew they were destined to be a part of something great.

THIS IS WAR

As the night rolled around and the meeting that was talked about was getting ready to commence. The Head Captains, including Luxifer, were dressed nicely for the occasion. When it finally went underway they discussed everything, and it dragged on for what felt like hours. By the end of the meeting, they were ready to strike Mira before dawn. All of them, with swords in hand, left the building that they had the meeting inside of and ordered their men to march off toward Mira and that their defiance should be noticed once and for all. Nobody was going to stop them, or so they thought inside of their heads. It was better late than never according to Luxifer as he was simply thrilled over the fact that they were finally advancing.

Miles were marched before they finally met the soil of Mira. The corrupted Military was already there to greet them with open arms. The Head Honcho of the whole ordeal stepped forward to welcome the group of Rebels who had chosen to mobilize together for what they believed would be their defining moment. Smiling from ear to ear the captain looked at all of them carefully before finally speaking out to them all. It was risky of the Head Honcho to put himself in harm’s way. He was a brave man and Luxifer embraced this fact along with the rest of his men. The Head Honcho's words were swift and to the point as he spoke out to them all.

"How brave of you all to come here, I promise that all of your deaths will come quickly. I honor this bravery so this is the best reward that I could come up with in such a short time."

Luxifer simply chuckled as he as well walked out into harm’s way. He allowed the Head Honcho's words to sink in as he stared at his face-to-face. In all of Luxifers life, he has never laid his sight on a more arrogant Military than what Mira has provided. Lost within thought Luxifer imagined that the Military had betrayed the own laws of its City. Wanting to call them out on it Luxifer thought of the best thing that he could have possibly said in a situation like this. He was going to get to the bottom of the problem and put it to rest immediately. It was only just a matter of whether or not it would work out accordingly to the plan Luxifer had set into motion.

"Do you believe you could just act without a King? I killed him, and all of you want to turn into villains? This is nonsense! I do not respect what any of you have done. You are all a bunch of bastards that should be put down."

Luxifer was almost foaming from the mouth while the Head Honcho could only burst out into what appeared to be an uncontrollable state of laughter. Before Luxifer could even continue speaking the deep voice of another male was unearthed behind the large mass of the Mira Military. "Lux! You have come home!" This voice sent Luxifer into shock as he believed that this person was long gone and dead. It was no other than his out-casted Uncle, Nikola Graelyn. It had become apparent that his Uncle came out of hiding to assume control following the death of his Brother.

"Now, now! This is not how you treat fellow Graelyn boys! You should show him more respect. Come now, Luxifer... You are welcome back into your home. Your friends are welcome to come along with you!"

Nikola grasped Luxifer's arm in an attempt to get him to follow, but Luxifer pulled away. At that moment Nikola knew that his plan to kill them all with poisoning had ultimately failed so he reached for a dagger and stabbed Luxifer in the stomach. When that happened one of Luxifer's men pulled out his handgun and shot Nikola in the shoulder. Nikola quickly got away, and the wounded Luxifer tailed after him as the Rebels and the Military began firing their weapons away at each other. It was a very hellacious sight to behold, but it was also a beautiful one at the same time. Luxifer chased Nikola into a Graelyn mansion and killed the guards he encountered along the way as if they were nothing.

Screams were heard and bodies fell to the ground in light of the fireworks between both sides. As the number began to dwindle on the Mira Military's side they began to retreat, but they did all of it slowly in hopes that they could outdo the Rebels before it is too late. The Military was far more advanced, and the Rebels dropped like flies, but their biggest problem was that there were just way too many of them to handle all in one place at the same time. It was a great tactic on the Rebels' side of things, and they all had a feeling that they would pull through this battle victoriously. Because of this none of them chose to give up on the battle.

THE FINAL BATTLE

With the war still underway, a game of chase was going on between Luxifer and Nikola who were both wounded after a brief scuffle. After fighting his way through numerous people who tried to protect Nikola, Luxifer finally blockaded his Uncle in the Ruler's Throne room. Nikola simply drew his sword as he knew that this was the end of the road and that he would have to battle Luxifer to assure his survival and future as a Ruler of Mira. In response, Luxifer drew his sword as well and they immediately began to swing and clash their swords together with neither of the two getting the better of the other in this fight. While they fought things were beginning to calm down on the outside.

The Rebels were overthrowing the steadily decreasing Military and only 300 men, and their Head Honcho remains. At this point, they became more tactical and hid inside buildings. The Rebels entered these buildings and had a battle to the death with the Military before the numbers on both sides decreased to an unbelievable amount. In the end, only 1 man remained in the Military along with the Head Honcho while the Rebels were still going strong with 10 men. These 10 men trailed after the Head Honcho but before the Head Honcho left he persuaded his last man left to sacrifice himself so that he could get away.

No time was wasted. The Rebels killed the man that was tossed their way with ease as they resumed chasing after the Head Honcho before he was finally caught trying to slip through the doors of one of the surrounding buildings. Without even giving it a second thought one of the men stepped forward and put a bullet in the back of the Honcho's head. Before his body even hit the ground the remaining men began to celebrate with open and unguarded arms. However, one person wasn't celebrating yet and that was their Leader, Luxifer. He was fighting viciously against his Uncle to what was a fight to the death. Swords continued to clash, and neither man seemed to be backing down despite their injuries.

After about an hour or so Nikola finally lost his footing and Luxifer managed to trip him up. Luxifer then swatted the sword out of Nikola's hand while Nikola lay motionless on the ground. Luxifer intended on ending his Uncle's life right there as he held his sword high above his head preparing what would have been his death shot, but before he did so he felt the urge to ask him something. His gaze was cold as he towered over his Uncle with rather curious eyes. Normally this kind of stuff would be beneath him. His mind proved him wrong. He needed to know, and he had the only man who answered him at his disposal.

Luxifer: "Why did you send the Military after me? You should have known better than to do something like this! "

Nikola: "Heh! I wanted power... Nothing else in the world mattered to me anymore. I planned on dethroning my Brother, but you did the job for me. With the belief that everything was secured for my future reign, I had to make sure that you were out of the picture as well."

Luxifer: "It's funny how your destiny changes...”

Luxifer slammed the sword down over Nikola only to... MISS! Nikola slid away to safety and then stabbed Luxifer in the side with a Dagger. Blood then began to gush out insanely fast and within the range of large quantities. While Nikola tried to escape Luxifer reached for his gun and shot Nikola 5 times in the back. Whilst holding his side tightly, Luxifer walked over to Nikola who was breathing heavily. Without even blinking Luxifer finished Nikola off with a shot to the back of his head. Afterward, Luxifer dipped down onto his knees and one of his men happened to spot the declining Luxifer. They simply carried him away to get treated by the Hospitals in the area.

WAR SCARS

The Sun was rising and the birds were chirping their melodic tune as the day started to unravel. Fresh dew blanketed a million blades of grass as the inhabitants of the land were greeted by a slight breeze that would make any human who was not bundled up enough shiver. The Civilians were still haunted by the gruesome war that had taken place not too long ago. Blood splatter is still painted on the walls of most of the houses. It was a day that nobody could forget and it was all one man's doing to thwart the Tyranny that had previously ruled the land for so long. Awarding this City with a sense of peace was a man who went by the name of Luxifer Graelyn. Hoping to right the wrongs he ascended the throne and took over as Mira's new ruler.

Within the confines of the Castle that overlooks the City from a hilltop, Luxifer was awakening from his slumber. A penetratingly loud yawn echoed throughout the halls due to him leaving his bedroom door ajar. Long arms stretched high above his head and he kept on stretching until' his ears were filled with a very satisfying bone-popping sound. Luxifer then lifted his torso and the blanket that covered him began to slide down his muscular chest and bunched up within the comfort of his lap, leaving his bandaged stab wound exposed. He then pulled the remainder of the blanket off of his legs and then twirled on the edge of his bed until he felt the cold wooden surface of his floor beneath his own two feet. He simply sat there for a few moments and rubbed the sleep dust out of his eyes.

Once everything was situated he pressed his hands against his thighs and stood up straight before approaching his dresser to grab a stack of neatly folded clothes. His attire today consisted of a pair of black pants and a gray long-sleeved shirt along with a pair of steel-toed combat boots. When he was finally dressed he left his room and slowly went downstairs. His hand was firmly adding force to the wound to make it hurt less, and before he could even leave the Castle he was approached by one of his live-in Doctors. The Doctor insisted that he stay for a moment so he could check him out before he left into the City completely unguarded. He simply sighed and lifted his shirt while the Doctor changed his bandages.

Doctor: "He got you pretty good... You are still nowhere close to 100 percent."

Luxifer: "My sad excuse of an Uncle almost killed me. I know this wound is going to scar and I will keep it as a reminder for the day that I obliterated some of the evilest people this world has seen. Now... I need to go find the love of my life."

His eyes stared off outside of the front door window at the Sun which was now further up in the sky surrounded by hundreds of fluffy clouds. The only thought racing through his mind at this very moment was how proud his mother would have been if she were alive to witness everything he had done and sacrificed for the City of Mira. Just as the Doctor finished he thanked the Doctor and then left through the unique castle door. With the bandage change and the injection of some fresh medicine, the stab wound did not hurt as much so he was able to walk as if there was nothing wrong with him. Things were starting to look up for him.

As he entered the main portion of the City he attracted many eyes from people as it was very rare for a King to journey out into the City alone, especially somebody who is a Graelyn. He simply shrugged off the eyes that were burning little tiny holes into his flesh and walked up to one of the food stands in the area. He paid a handsome amount for a single Apple which he immediately brushed off and took a sizable bite out of. While chewing the portion of Apple in his mouth he looked around and saw some of the damage from the War. Within the distance, he saw the girl he thought he would never see again. She was heading his way after receiving word that he was now up and walking around, not expecting to run into him so fast. Closing the gap between each other they simply hugged, nobody around to separate them again. A small choice of words slipped out from his lips as his chin rested on her shoulder. "It's finally over.."

THE SPEECH

Mira is a city of artists that are hungry to achieve even a minuscule acknowledgment for their hard work. If you want to be a singer, a dancer, a director, a writer, a photographer, or even a legendary hunter, people will tell you that this is the place to be to make your dreams come true. Classic stone-built structures mapped out the roads of Mira, and despite how old everything looked, the town wields an immense quantity of futuristic technology. A beautiful combination that made just about anyone feel at peace. The stone city is encircled by a vibrantly rich colored forest of trees and mountains which people could wander to and through if they ever grow tired of what the city offers them. Usually, the forest is full of people setting up tents to camp among the lurking wild beasts. Hunters are aplenty as they train most of their life for the chance to take down one of these beasts. Either for a sizable coin or for a bard in one of the local taverns to make a song out of their encounters. Many legends are being birthed as the calendar counts down beyond their last breath.

The howls of dogs and the chirps of crickets played out like a patchwork of off-key melodies. The black canvas of the night sky appeared cloudless with little bright stars scattered all over it. The only thing brighter was the moon itself which illuminated everything beneath it. Nighttime was the only chance you would get to see just how beautiful the city of Mira truly is. Many vanished into the cozy embrace of their blankets in preparation for tomorrow's inevitable grind. Those that defied the call of sleep are often fondly called 'night owls'. One of those restless souls was the recently appointed King that stayed up because he wanted to prepare a speech. Embracing the frosty touch of the night he sat at a desk lit up by a partially melted candle. A paper lay on the desk in front of him while the tip of the pen he held with a firm grip danced upon the page. His thoughts spilled onto it like a running faucet. His mind was the unkindest to him as it would often put down mental obstacles that he knew he would have to overcome alone. This is something that he enjoys as it gives him that challenge, he always searches for.

"I can't afford to mess this up. I need to get all of the words right."

His deep voice fell out of his parted lips in what can only be described as stressful in tone. Luxifer, the young King, has always been known as the type to push himself toward burnout. "I need to get out of here.." He knew he needed to take a breather and get out of his prison cell of a room. Gripping his knees with his long slender fingers he pushes his palms down into them and stands up straight. A satisfying pop of his spine greeted him after being seated for such a long time. Moseying over to the front door of his home, he left for the outside world. Before closing the front door behind himself he reached back inside and grabbed his jacket. He held onto it for a few moments, but after the first gust of cold wind touched his flesh he slid his upper body into his jacket. The jacket hung fairly low on his body due to it being a few sizes too big. The previous owner was his late-Father who just so happened to enjoy over-indulging in food. It was the only thing on him that did not fit correctly. His faded black jeans, scuffed boots, and gray t-shirt complement the oversized jacket.

The sweet addictive sound of acorns crunching beneath his boots stayed with him through most of his initial journey. He had his hypnotic purple eyes focused on a mountain top nearby; a popular tourist spot where many would visit just for the view and the chance of taking the most gorgeous picture at the opportune moment. The sound of crunching acorns stopped abruptly as he reached the stairs to the top of the mountain. The slow ascent up these steps caused his breathing to become slightly thicker. After spending a decent amount of time resting, he knew that doing anything strenuous would fling his body into a metaphorical windmill. Upon reaching the top of the mountain after what felt like an eternity, he calmed his breathing and then walked over to the steel railings placed along the ledge of the mountain to keep people safe. Folding his arms over one another along the surface of the railing, he would lean into it just ever so slightly. Taking in the city he freed from tyranny not so long ago.

"I knew you would be feeling uneasy about all of this Master Graelyn."

The voice of an old man emerged up the steps revealing at that moment that he had been tailing Luxifer. It was none other than the former servant for the Graelyn family. Luxifer greatly respected this man and always leaned on him for advice. In most ways, he is more like a Father to him than his own was. The old man limped over to the railing and leaned over it in a mirroring fashion to Luxifer. The old man had a large smile shining on his face. This in turn made Luxifer himself smile. His pearly whites show the brief imagery of Luxifer still having some level of innocence within. The smile, however, faded just as quickly as it had arrived. He made it very obvious that he was stressing out over his impending speech. He knew that he should not come off as weak or too strong. He wanted the people of Mira to know that a good King can exist and that he will be that once-in-lifetime King for them. The old man took notice of Luxifer being lost in thought as if stewing in what he had said to Luxifer on his way over to him. This confirmed the old man's suspicions of how Luxifer is feeling.

"Oh, Jack... You always seem to know when I require your company. I am supposed to be home right now finishing off a speech and I keep hesitating because I feel like certain words seem.. wrong. It is like writer's block but instead of it being a situation where I have no thoughts... I just have too many. I do not know which words I should use to ease the worry of the people."

Luxifer said, his voice audibly tired. Jack could only laugh at the way Luxifer has been taking in all of this. Being as old as he is, Jack has been through three generations of very powerful Kings. Anything Luxifer is going through he has seen others go through it, and overcome it. Jack could however also sense that Luxifer is a different breed of man compared to his predecessors. Clearing out his throat from phlegm build-up, Jack pushed himself away from the railing and placed a singular hand upon Luxifer's shoulder. His fingers squeezed in a bit to apply a snug grip. Luxifer's eyes widened as he anticipated what old man Jack had to tell him. And given Jack's age, Luxifer kept his ears unclogged as this could be the last advice he will ever receive from him. "Listen to me, close young man..." With a tug of his hand on Luxifer's shoulder, he sent Luxifer forward into him. Luxifer still having decent reflexes was able to stop himself from falling over on good ole' trusty Jack. "I am all ears, Gramps.." Jack snickered at that comment, knowing full well that Luxifer meant it jokingly.

"Now Lux... When you get back home... Write whatever comes to you naturally. If you have to think too hard about something then it won't be very natural at all. Are you following me? Let them know that you will be a strong King. Let them know that you will try to understand their struggles. And when you announce the changes that I know you have made for them... Do whatever you can to stand by them. Be everything your Father could never be."

Before Luxifer could even get a single word out, Jack pulled Luxifer into a hug and said the words, ever so softly. "You will be fine son." And shortly after that, he would walk away. Leaving Luxifer there alone in silence to think about what was just said to him. He took a deep sigh before snapping out of his frozen state. Passing a glance out over the railing at the city, he started to head back down the steps toward home. What Jack had said to him danced around inside his head every inch of the way. When he did return he would enter his residence in a hurry. Being anxious to get back to writing his speech now that he has been refueled mentally. Practically leaping back into his chair at his desk to write some more, he would finish his speech. After that, he was only able to get in 3 hours of sleep before he had to leave out to deliver his speech in front of at least a million people. He knew this would be it and there is no turning back now. He was ready to give them everything he has. And hopefully, they accept him beyond this point as their King for the next several decades.

When Luxifer arrived on the stage in the center of the city, he was blown away at how many people showed up to hear him speak. The crowd withheld their reaction to him as he walked out onto the stage. The people of Mira wait cautiously to see if he is somebody they should be rooting for. After all, he is the seed of his Tyrant Father that made nearly every life in Mira a living hell. He knew that it would take a lot of undoing to fix everything that his Father had done to these people. Grasping the microphone with his right hand, he holds it near his mouth. The voice that would trail out was more commanding and powerful. Unlike last night, he sounded like a leader because he knew that he would have to be strong for each one of them. He owed it to the people, but more importantly to his late Mother, his late siblings, his children, and himself.

"I stand before you today as a man that laid it all on the line for the freedom of Mira. I know that many souls were lost in the war of Mira, and if I had a single wish it would have been to bring all of them back since I know they were only following orders to keep you guys safe from my terrible Father. They all unfortunately paid the ultimate price.

With the infection cut out, we can now focus on rebuilding Mira in a better image. This will be a moment of healing for all of us. This crown has represented a lot of hurts... I know this to be true. It has even hurt me a tremendous amount growing up. This is why I vow that after my demise there will be no next King. Mira will be in charge of Mira.

I know that you may look at me with sour facial expressions, and that is all right. Even though I wear a crown and can make choices that can benefit all of you, you are free to go wherever you please and do whatever you please. Trade with outsiders! Trade across city lines! Do whatever for the sake of a good life!"

Finishing his speech he moved away from the microphone with his head bent down and his eyes fixed on the floor and the surface of his boots. The crowd responded with thunderous clapping and cheers. His speech made them more than happy since it felt like a huge weight has been lifted off the back of the city. He laughed at himself because he had spent all night preparing his speech, assuming that it would go wrong. This reaction lets him know that everything has paid off and that his life as King has only just begun.

BLEEDING STARS [bonus content, optional. Not connected to the main story.]

The night sky slid into focus while the stars littered its dark canvas with an alluring glow. It is often said through shared whispers that some people look toward these stars with hopes and dreams. A sense of comfort is brought forth in knowing that everybody is staring at the same thing, no matter the thickness of one's wallet. This night in particular was a quiet one, the City itself resting calmly with most of the building lights turned off. Tall gothic-styled lamps lit the sidewalks so that any wandering night dwellers would have an idea about where they are going without stumbling aimlessly trying to find their way. All of this imagery represents a positive change within the City after being hit by a violent, blood-drenching war that saw them receive a more passionate ruler who looks after everybody instead of just himself. The economy reached heights that it had never previously seen, and the people themselves became happier as a result. But despite all of this goodwill, there are always those lurking dangers that exist purely to bring down these seemingly strong City walls.

A smile curled the corners of his lips into an upward angle upon finally settling his wild mind for at least this moment. It was always the thought of the person that meant the most to him that helped him reach some kind of inner peace. His eyes drifted along the buildings below before resting on one building that was lit up like a Christmas tree. It was a bar that at certain times would stay open all night to make the most out of those who wished to guzzle down a few bottles versus sleeping. Deciding that he was feeling kinda parched, he left the area and raced back down into the main part of the City. Reaching the road that lead to the bar, the dirt-covered cobblestone beneath him crunched against the tough rubber bottoms of his boots with every step he took, making his way toward his desired location. A small gun tucked closely by his side in case he would have to draw it for whatever situation calls for it. He only trusted the people in his City ninety percent of the time. With his status, it just appears to be a crazy idea that he would even consider wandering out into the other parts of the City without any form of extra security.

Upon reaching the bar, he stepped inside, and instantly all eyes were on him. He stuck out like the sorest thumb on a hand, but that never stopped him from trying to lead the not-so-often wonderful life of being stubborn. Moseying over to the bar he pulled out a stool and placed his beer-aching body upon it. "Hey, there barkeeper... I would like one of those generic beers." It was a weird request for somebody of his perceived stature, but he was never one to embrace the signage of royalty that his Father had paraded around so proudly. While sitting at the bar, one of the prying eyes decided to walk over to him. The closer the stranger got to him, the more his eyes started to feel like daggers. Lux flung some swift viperous words at the man, "If you have a problem with me we can take it outside." In response to this flow of words, the stranger laughed at what Lux had said. "No, not at all Mr. Graelyn. I just wanted to see if my eyes were deceiving me." The stranger walked away from the bar, possibly intending to put him on edge. He tried not to play into it too much because if anything were to happen he was beyond prepared to take care of himself.

Finally, receiving his beer from the bartender, he stood up from his stool and gripped the bottle of beer from its tip. He briskly left the bar with a beer in hand and did not stop walking until the distance between himself and the bar was satisfyingly enough apart. Taking himself and his beer toward a cemetery, he moved past all the gravestones just to reach one that seemed to hold a great deal of interest to him. Kneeling and touching the gravestone, he paused for a few moments before standing back up straight. Inserting his thumb against the cap of the beer bottle, he popped it off with ease. Some foam slipped out over the top and hit the ground near his feet. "Everything I have done is in your memory, Mother. One day I will become the kind of man you can be proud of." Bringing the beer up to his mouth, he wraps his lips around the opening of the bottle and takes a massive gulp. Eventually, he lowered the bottle back down by his side after a brief moment just to catch his breath. "And please forgive me for everybody I killed.." It was evident that some of the things he did in life haunt him. Flinging on and off like a busy light switch.

An unfortunate tale crept along the tattered pages of time as Luxifer Graelyn, the king of Mira is thrust into the newest chapter of his life. He found himself at a crossroads between staying in Mira or getting out and living his life freely while he is still young. In hindsight being in a graveyard in front of his Mothers grave with a beer bottle in his hand did not paint the most elegant picture. When you think of somebody who is a King you expect to be presented with a far grander lifestyle. He thought that if he were to be successful in repairing Mira he would have done right by his mother's name. His mind is divided into many pieces as he tries to navigate his way to the right decision. As a child, he was often told the story of Icarus and his fatal flight. His Mother was always positive that he will go on to do great things, but despite soaring ever higher she always reminded him to never let his wings melt under the gaze of the sun. "I know what I must do now.." With a gentle smile, he patted his mother's gravestone one last time and left the cemetery, tossing the beer bottle in the trash bin on his way out.

The crunch of the ground beneath his boots felt more like a melody to his ears this time around. Visiting his Mothers grave and talking to her seemed to lift a huge weight off of his shoulders. However, unbeknownst to him, somebody lingered nearby with the ill intent of ruining his newly found good mood. "Hey, fancy pants!" -- Luxifer turned to face the direction from which this voice came, assuming that the person is intending to draw his attention. "Yes? You are that guy from the bar are you not?" Luxifer asked. His hypnotic purple eyes fall on the sight of the knife this man is wielding. The man was quick to answer Luxifer with extreme hostility while seeming to grip the knife even tighter. "I heard rumors about how you got that crown! You killed a man! And not just any man but your father! That makes you gutter trash just like me." It became obvious to Luxifer that this man had anger or perhaps even jealousy seeping out of his pores. Luxifer twisted his vision all over the immediate area just to make sure it was just the two of them. Never being one to enjoy surprises.

"Fine... I will tell you a little story then." He kept his sight on the knife and purposely stepped backward in a slow manner just to increase the gap between himself and the unwound man. "My... Father..." His words lagged in delivery showcasing that he did not think much of his Father nor the idea of calling him such. "He was the pure embodiment of evil. He strove to lead a kingdom of yes-men who were ready to die for him. And if you even dared to have an independent opinion than his own then he will have you killed. But that... that was only the tip of the problem I had with him. He treated my siblings and Mother very poorly so when push finally came to shove I gave him exactly what he deserved." Silence befell both Luxifer and the knife-wielding man before the man just out of nowhere burst into uncontrollable laughter. "Do you even know what a decision like that did to people like me?! After you murdered him?! My old man lost his job as a guard. We were thrown out onto the streets and treated like we were nothing when you took over!"

Luxifer knew that words would no longer repair this situation. He prepared himself for the worst-case scenario as the man drew closer to him. "I am going to reunite you with your family!" The man lunged forward hoping to make quick work of Luxifer. However, anticipating such a move as this, Luxifer sidestepped the man causing him to stumble and fall face-first toward the ground. Seeing this as his opportunity to make a move he climbed on top of the man in a risky attempt to retrieve the knife from him. After failing to subdue the man and take his knife the man used all the strength he had to flip Luxifer over onto his back. Luxifer in a moment of luck was able to catch the man by his wrists before the knife could penetrate his chest. Luxifer used every ounce of strength he had to hold back the knife that would most likely bring an end to his life. Luxifer would spend an endless amount of nights questioning if he truly wanted to be alive. Being reminded of his mortality made him realize that he valued being a part of this wretched world.

As their struggle continued, rain began to fall upon them. Luxifer's grip on the man slipped ever so gradually from the moisture the water provided. "S-Stop!" Luxifer could feel his life flash before his eyes as he pleaded with the man to pull back on his attempt at killing him. Eventually, the grip was lost and the man buried the knife deep within Luxifer's chest. This caused him to gasp for air and scream out in pain as his blood pooled around the entry point. Still alert and feeling as though he had nothing left to lose Luxifer twisted his body with the knife still inside of him and flipped the man back over. Luxifer poured blood all over the man as the man attempted to stab Luxifer even more. Knowing he was on the verge of passing out from the enormous amount of blood he lost, he gripped the man's throat as tightly as he could and crushed it. The man quickly let go of Luxifer and the knife when he realized he could not catch his breath. Luxifer rolled off the man while his heart beat a thousand miles a second. "A-all this trouble... And I did not even learn your n-name.." immediately after this sentence Luxifer passed out due to all the blood he had lost.

Luxifer opened his eyes to see that the night had passed. "Welcome back to the land of the living Mr. Graelyn." A doctor nearby said. Luxifer was laid out in a hospital bed after miraculously surviving the brutal stabbing. With zero hesitation he lifts the blanket covering him and checks out the bandages, surprised that he was even alive. "How am I even still alive Doc? And what happened to that other guy?" The doctor lowered his head to stare at the floor. That mannerism gave away what happened before even opening his mouth. "He was not as lucky as you. Old Ted from the logging company that builds all the houses around here brought you in. The other guy was dead at the scene. You died for a little bit as well but we were able to revive you. You are an incredibly lucky man, Mr. Graelyn." Normally in a situation like this, a person would be happy to know that they survived, but Luxifer could only feel remorse. A man lost his life over something that could have been prevented if he had cared more about the people who had worked for his Father. It was just another unfortunate chapter for the young Luxifer.

Two full days would pass after that unfortunate night. Luxifer spent a long while thinking about what his next move should be. That encounter opened his eyes and helped him realize where he stood in life. Packing a suitcase full of clothes, he left Mira with the power to be more self-sufficient without his guiding hand. A statement to the press was released detailing everything for the people. After such a long time leading Mira as its King, he was finally ready to put away the crown and experience some new adventures. The memories of everything he achieved play inside his mind like a home video. It was finally time for him to live a little and build even more memories than just the ones he collected from being in Mira. He saw the importance in all of them, even the horrendous ones. "I flew too close to the sun and lived to tell the tale. This scar-riddled body proves to me that you are watching over me, Mother." Luxifer picked up his suitcase and left the castle at a brisk pace with his beloved trailing only a few inches behind him. The people of Mira who saw a positive change in Luxifer's leadership gathered in the streets to wish him well in his next adventure. He boarded a ship, waving goodbye to every single person, before turning toward the love of his life to lock lips with her. It was the start of something new for them, which Luxifer greatly cherished.
