About me: Full Name: Monroe Iseilious 'Isely' Blackhall
Sex | Age: Male - 18
Birthday: September 2
Occupation: Mage Scholar, Scribe, Journeyman Adventurer-Poet.
Raised under the authoritarian guidance of his grandfather Obadiah to follow in the family's storied tradition of arcane scrollcraft and scriptwork at the Blackhall Scribeworks, Isely was never far from a quill during his formative years. In truth, he had no reason to believe this was not the case for all children. Cloistered with little beyond literature and arcane symbology, the boy simply assumed that that this was the way of things, and dedicated himself to the family's craft.
With age, though, came knowledge, and with knowledge opportunity. Not from the outside world, but from all Obadiah had given the boy over the years. Copying and studying of arcane scrolls brought with them the first sparks of mystical acumen. the first true spells honed and practiced to give power to the words he had so often read. Transcription of historical texts led to a curiosity for the adventurers of old, and by extent, the noble warriors of the modern nights. The world had so much more to offer than the scroll racks and supply halls he called home. Working up the courage to express these words, his own words, the teen would approach his grandfather.
To Isley's surprise, Obadiah asked little more than a demonstration of all the boy had learned. And the young mage obliged. He showed his elder tricks he had crafted and improvised from arcane theory and supplies at hand, the ability to shield himself with the arcane energies slumbering in the ink itself. The ability to weave a spoken word with such inflection as to make a would be assailant feel more than simply a wound of the ego. Simple tricks, truly, but the spark of potential burned brightly in the boy.
A simple handshake was the old man's reply. A first in the young scribe's life. The conversation that followed was terse, but civil. Supportive, even. After all, such an industrious young mage could hardly bring proper glory to the Blackhall sitting in some studio gathering dust like the tomes around him. Preparing a letter of introduction should the boy need to call upon the family name, which seemed to carry some minor noble backing, the elder would order supplies prepared for the boy before returning to his business, entrusting Isley to helm his own future.
Around a year has passed, now, and the world has shown no deficit of wonders to the young mage in his travels. Always there was some new thing to examine or new trouble to get embroiled in, and all was recorded as notations within the pages of parchment and scrolls he carried with him. For what good was seeing the world without being able to share these marvelous tales with others? Still, more often than not, he finds himself in libraries and halls of texts, studying and transcribing new knowledge as free time allows. Some things, it seems, never changed.

So you like doing archeological dives. I could work with that, if you want something else.
Perhaps an adventure in a local town; being attacked by twig blights. If you want more details I can, otherwise i'll just reveal the finer details. None the less I got an idea hook for your character's interest.
I totally get ya, normally I do standard array but this time I just ran a character creation on discord through avrae; never thought to do point buy I may do that instead. What cap does it use 15 or 16 and does it also allow 1 feat at level one? Otherwise Discord is my go to for rolls or proof when I post. It is also how I'd prefer to do my D&D nights with those interested.
