BACKGROUND:

Ishidate was amongst the first few born of the idea of Hashirama and the Senju clan marrying into the many clans of Konohagakure to strengthen the connections of the villagers.

Ishidate’s father, Hiroshi Hyūga, a member of the main branch of the Hyūga clan would fall in love with long time teammate Emiko, the granddaughter of the esteemed Tōka Senju. The two would go on to marry and give birth to Ishidate.

PART I:

Ishidate grew up with all the riches, splendor, and privileges of nobility in the Lands of Fire. His sharp wits and the fact that he was a natural prodigy gained him great attention and acclaim, which quickly made him a favorite amongst the village’s chain of command.

His father began raising him as his heir from an early stage, taking him into his confidence and educating him in history and politics. Living up to his two strong bloodlines, Ishidate is regarded as able to accomplish anything he attempts in remarkably short periods of time.

PART II:

Having inherited his paternal great-grandmother's genius and his father's physical makeup, he was among the students to score at the top of his class in his Genin Exams, and was viewed as well-above most of his generation with chūnin-level prowess. As a genin, Ishidate was regarded as an elite who excels in all fields of combat.

BLANK PERIOD:

His prowess had proved crucial in defeating formidable opponents during his few missions as a member of Team 8. After becoming a chūnin, Ishidate applied for Konoha’s Torture and Interrogation Force where he added to his accomplishments. Ishidate was assigned alongside Shinobu Mibu and Mozuku, with Ibiki Morino as his captain.

During his mentorship, Ishidate showed great interest in the tactics of Ibiki despite not being an Hyūga. At one point, they both worked together in a two-man squad to capture a escaped prisoner and retrieve information on who freed him and betrayed Konohagakure.

The two were ambushed by rouge ninja and were forced to kill the latter party after an attempted escape. They would work together for two years until Ishidate was asked to resign and join a new Anbu team under Sai's authority.

NEW ERA:

Ishidate’s accomplishments as a Anbu are a source of great pride for his family, his father viewing him as proof of the Hyuga’s future prosperity and his young clansmen viewing him as a model to live up to.

Ishidate as a youth spent a great deal of time with his great-grandmother Tōka before her passing and would continue her training methods throughout his life. Ishidate’s growth only made him isolate himself from other even more, he would spend his days avoiding friends and former classmates, feeling they were no longer his equals.

Ishidate did well in the Anbu, to the point he eventually became a captain and the leader of Team Ro. However, his successes were owed to his cold behaviour and his ruthlessness in combat.

Ishidate’s accomplishments made him worthy to be the betrothed of Hanabi Hyūga. Ishidate like Hanabi both were of the main branch and together was a symbol of the clan’s future prosperity.

Ishidate became known as a very taciturn and arrogant individual, viewing himself as perfect, believing that he doesn't need any supporters, even calling other Hyūga "useless bottom feeders" after glaring at them on one occasion.

Ishidate personality changed after his father died saving his allies, Ishidate began adopting some of Hiroshi‘s views: he decides to fight and die for Konoha's future so that Hiroshi‘a death wasn't made meaningless and bases his understanding of the "Hokage" around the decisions Hiroshi and his ancestors before him made.

While still not very open with his emotions, Ishidate became more committed to make connections with people. Ishidate’s emotional distance seems to come from being so committed to his long-stretching missions.

At the same time, he regrets not having been a more attentive son to his family, especially his father, having missed out on much of father-son time once he became a full time ninja and by extension not knowing much about him, showing a noticeably unsure side when trying to be close with his mother.

Still, Ishidate loves his clan dearly and will go to great lengths to protect them. While still active as a Anbu captain, Ishidate awakened the Tenseigan while on a top secret mission. He had to remain recluse, keeping contact with people to an absolute minimum and maintained his strong sense of pride to learn and maintain this newly awakened power.

PERSONALITY:

Ishidate acts in an aristocratic manner. He always seems serene and apathetic towards other people, even while actually deeply conflicted. He is notably calm, even in battle.

He generally acts indifferent, bordering on arrogance, to most situations he is faced with, and rarely views his opponent as being worth his time.

Like the rest of the Hyūga clan, Ishidate is an arrogant man who believes himself superior to others. Along with a strong devotion towards his own clan.

Ishidate is noted to be greatly dedicated to the protection of Konoha, having accomplished much for the sake of the village. Although he looks down on servants and commoners, he takes his position as a shinobi of Konohagakure very seriously.

Ishidate strongly believes in law and order. As a captain of the Anbu and member of one of the great noble families, he works hard for a peaceful society. He feels that if someone in his position does not follow the rules as a good example, no one else will.

He believes that to maintain the order, all law-breakers must be punished, even if it goes against his own wishes. Ishidate feels that "part of a captain's responsibilities is to make sure that the subordinates responsibilities are taken care of"

Despite his usually arrogant behavior, Ishidate does exhibit signs of caring for and respecting people close to him. Though Ishidate rarely shows much emotion, he can be surprisingly belligerent when annoyed.

APPEARANCE:

Ishidate is a slender male with fair skin, narrow Byakugan eyes, and small eyebrows. He has light, brown hair worn in a long ponytail style that is occasionally remarked upon by other characters. He keeps his hair long and straight at the lower back.
