Name: Dimitri Rasputin
Age: 28-Ageless(Depends on the roleplay and the point of his story that is used.)
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Nationality: Russian/Siberian

Height: 7โ2โ

Personality: If there's one thing that can describe Dimitri, it's complicated. For the most part, he is a solemn, soft-spoken man that belies a dogged, determined nature. He carries a heavy burden, and his scars seem to extend far more than the marks on his body. There is a dark, evil thing that lies in his heart. He battles his own nature, the desires that lay in his soul to dominate, hurt, control, and destroy others. Yet despite this, he hates this part of him. He finds it repulsive, disgusting and wishes beyond anything to change.
He fights against these impulses by being kind, helping others in not only by saving those that are in trouble but in even simple handyman work. He turned to his faith in God to guide him, much like his ancestor Grigori had; making it his life mission to do good unto others. Yet there are those moments... moments where it slips away. Where the mask falls, and that violent monster steps forward.

Biography Born in the motherland, Dimitri had originally lived the life of a poor man, practicing his swordplay in the form of watching the few that did practice it from afar. He would always look for a fallen branch, using it as a means to practice the swings and stances heโs seen. Regardless of his poor state, he always seemed to hold his head high. Even with the jeers and hate directed at him for his family name, he pushed himself forward. In secret he kept his ancestorโs grimoire. The evidence of his sin, and his guilt.
Despite that it was his ancestor that was responsible for so much suffering inflicted upon the world, his bloodline was infected with a curse. A curse that would enforce guilt upon the bearer's conscience. Dimitri doesn't know where it came from, but he searched high and low for a means to cure himself of it. Traveling throughout the many regions that encapsulated his homeland, he was met with but one thing that was going to hound his steps. The Memory of his Ancestor. His spirit. With the awakening of Grigori, this in turn forced an even heavier burden on Dimitri. Dark magic, necromancy, evil energies that his ancestor controlled, this power was forced upon the young man of faith.
Even forced as Grigori's apprentice, this did not stop Dimitri from trying to find a cure to his curse. His travels took him to Ukraine, to the tomb of Saint Vladimir the Great. Within the saint's ashes lied Dimitri's salvation... the Sword of the Guilty, Provyna. When he drew it from those sanctified ashes, it drew blood from him. The hilt took the form of a twisted man, arms and legs wrapped around in all the wrong directions. The guard was more akin to the thorns of a rose that ran along the grey blade. It radiated such a holy, ominous aura despite the pain he felt holding this sword. Yet for every second he wielded it, he could feel lighter amidst the agony. Penance. Despite that he was stealing this from a holy place, he embraced his newest trial. To right the world and try to do good with the power he has. Despite Grigori's efforts, he would not become like him... He refused.
All that was left was to redeem his soul.

Armory/Abilities
Provyna: The holy blade of penence. A sword that Dimitri found in the ashes of Saint Vladomir the Great-- it is a powerful, holy relic, capable of amplifying Dimitri's spells and even projecting holy energy as powerful blasts. It also is capable of bypassing defenses, cutting down beings that are both corporeal, incorporeal, and astral. True to its name, it is also effective as punishment towards evil, where an errant cut will leave metallic thorns inside of Dimitri's enemy and inflicting agonizing pain. Despite its great power, it comes at a cost. Dimitri's body is in constant pain, his hands always wrapped in bandages due to Provyna's desire to inflict repentant pain unto its wielder.
There are days where the pain is far too great, and that he cannot move. Regardless, he soldiers on towards another day.
Necromancy: Despite how much he despises the art, necromancy has served Dimitri well in doing good unto others. Often the dead would assist him in his endeavors, and rather than enslaving them to his will, he beseeches them to help, to help give them their final rest. From summoning titanic skeletons, to curses, to even using his own blood, his power over the dark arts is versatile and vast.
The Arcane: Just as his ancestor was in the past, Dimitri is quite the capable spellweaver.
