That writing.

"Thanks Dad..."

That was what he said after doing the job he did upon his trails in Atlas to get into the school. He along with many others after they past the trial, would have to look into the trials of interviews next. He looked into the the very eyes of the woman that was going to interview him in question as he dad spoke to him. She seemed cold and rather put off by him. But then nothing of his look did scream Atlas he supposed, they were for the most part rugged, uptight and rather dressed to impress. But that wasn't Flynt. Sure, his look certainly did have style, but his tie the way it was undone. His 1950's suit was perfect to the letter, but not exactly in his combat, or speech did he seem like Atlas material. He turned to his dad after hearing every word he said to him.

"I know this wasn't your first choice in school, but at the very least, we feel that, even if you are a little closer to home, you can make it here or at any other school son."

Those were the words that hit most of what he said as he did sort of feel since his shop when down, he was a bit bummed about the choices. Still, Atlas was his second choice. So he smiled as he gave a final hug to his mother and walked off into the main hallway.

They had posted all the scores for all the rookies that passed. Flynt scored second overall. His time was faster then anyone else in finishing the monster. But form he was fished almost dead last in. In the task though there was also a test of leadership. He finished first overall again as he was paired up with two others and they both agreed, Flynt was the leader of the group given he was able to gather all their abilities to their best use. But to the test judges, there was a lot of risk in that method. They weren't wrong though. But he had a feeling that it all turn out okay.

Of those scores and those that passed. There were fifty odd students waiting in the same room. The interviews were short, but they also left many people failing. That's what he saw from the many faces sad faces of kids his age. As the room got smaller and smaller he looked to his left and right and looked at all the black on the scoreboard. It wasn't until the 48th person went into the interview that he saw the score of the person who got 1st overall, turn black. The look on his face of shock when he saw her fail. The sad look on her face, crying as she walked out or the room. Flynt could only look to her and see that if the person with the best score would fail, what chance he'd have. It was then he heard a bright ding. That had meant a person had passed.

Of the people that indeed did pass the test, there was at least eleven other people had passed. But this ding was rather special, it was the person who scored dead last on the test. Another female has walked out of the interview room and of all things, it was a fanus. Flynt had not many many face to face in his time but he had to say something before she walked off and away.

"Hey!" He started, just to try and get her attention.

"Yes?" she looked back with a smile of all things to him. She had no reason to look at him with any strife. Flynt would hesitate, but he did get off what he needed to say. As he rose to his feet he would start.

"Congrats on passing and all, but how did you do it? When the top score failed and you passed? No offense." Flynt started but the girl just shrugged and look to him with an even wider smile. It was as if she was already starting to like him already.

"I just did it. I didn't really do any tricks, I did force anything. I just said what I felt was, me." With that same smile she walked off on her own two feet. But even before she could leave he had to stop her one more time.

"Hey!" He said to her once more.

"Yes?" Her smile this time looking more genuine more relaxed then before. He even notice more color on her skin, and her hair.

"What is your name?" Flynt asked her one more question. "I am Flynt."

"It's Neon. You know, I'm glad you actually asked for my name and not just looked down upon me. So if you let me ask you a question," She looked to the male one more time with that same genuine smile. You are different from most humans. Why would you treat me so nice."

That was a good question... why did Flynt do that?

Where he lived and where he was from, Fylnt had very little positive influence for the Fanus kind. Even know with their actions of recent, humans from where he lived, were even more hostile to them. But he remembered one thing that would not change his resolve, today, tomorrow and the next day.

"The reason we are here is clear, you want to keep the piece and fight monsters, just like me. To this day. There is now other reason to view you any less then me. You are a future huntress. That's worth all the respect you can get from me."

"Well then, I can't wait to see you here, Flynt." She said to him with a nod. "Should totally party sometime."

"But, I have yet to even get in yet. It's not set for me to pass." Flynt said though with his own smile and laugh.

"Yeah, but I can tell, with the way you are, there shouldn't be any doubt." She pointed behind him as his interviewer, the same woman with the cold stare was now lighter in her looks, even had a smile on her face directed at him. Flynt would turn to Neon, but she was already out of speaking distance.

"Mr. Coal, we are ready for you now."

With a a turn and a tip of his hat, Flynt looked to her with a smile and walked into that direction with a smile on his face, looking rather bold and confident. He opened the door and let the lady file in first, following shortly after.

It would only take thirty seconds, but by his name there was a ding. The same ding Neon had previously.
