The Grave Family

Story: The fates of the Grave family reside in six seperate universes known as the System, a closed off set of universes created by the Architect. These universes include War of Hearts and Dragons, Rose Wing, Project: Godseed, Muramasa: Legacy of the Blacksmith, World of Beasts and Legacy of Knowledge. All these universes are of my creation stemming from over 12 years of writing.

Guess I should start at the beginning....

Cross Grave represents the natural law of Entropy within these worlds. A mathematical anomoly which functions as a constant glitch in the System, showing up and creating ways for the inhabitants to change in unpredictable ways. Those belonging to the Grave family directly decended from Cross have the potential of bringing about the collapse of the System yet the failsafe of the Library and other Divine Regalia usually prevent such an event.

File 117TH03: War of Hearts and Dragons

The first of the worlds created by the Architect was War of Hearts and Dragons. A medieval realm ruled by the Twelve Dragon Gods. The first Cross Grave spawned as a knight known as Galdok. An orphan with the strange power to absorb sunlight and empower his body, who suddenly appeared within the Kingdom of Veilstone. At the age of five he became a thief and attempted to rob the kingdom's greatest swordsmen Hiro, of his most prized sword which was intended for the king. Instead of putting him to death for such a crime Hiro pleaded with the king to have Galdok become his student recognizing his hair and eyes as part of an ancient prophecy passed on from his ancestors. His granddaughter Seereon Aetherion also part of the prophecy as the woman who would become his wife and help Galdok save the kingdom.

The Kingdom of Veilstone was plagued by constant demon attacks as it represented a beacon of Light and Hope, and was one of the few human settlements which rebelled against the tyranical rule of the Twelve Dragon Gods. For years Hiro trained both Galdok and Seereon knowing their union would be the one hope their world would have for the coming darkness. Galdok was a rather troublesome child who refused to listen to anyone other than Hiro leaving Seereon to apologize for the pranks he would pull on he guards. It wasnt until he was eight that he actually spoke to anyone. As childish as he was Hiro found that training kept him busy and he could sense an ever growing desure to fight within him. Almost to the point of bloodlust.  until they were the best knights in the whole kingdom but it was then their greatest threat arose going by the name of the Bahamut the Black. The prophecy spoke of an eater of hearts who would plunge the world into Darkness unless the Heart Pieces of the Twelve Dragon Gods were gathered into the legendary blade Fangless.

Galdok and Seereon set out to slay those rumored to be the weakest of the Twelve Dragon Gods. The one of Flame, Water, Ice, Lightning, Stone, and Wind. The skills of Hiro the Sword Saint were known across all the Twelve Realms and the Beyond, and Galdok was a fast learner. The slaying of the first few Dragon Gods came rather easy for him but humans weren't supposed to have the natural power he did.  With every Heart Piece collected he gained the power of the element the Dragon God used and liberated their respective realm from tyranic rule and slavery. Little did they suspect that with every dragon slain, Bahamut absobed half their soul to recieve their power over the elements.

The first time Galdok and Seereon met Bahamut was on their return from slaying the Thunder Dragon God. By this time six of the dragons had already been slain. Taking the form of an a black undead dragon Bahamut assasulted Veilstone laying waste to the entire kingdom. By the time the two showed up most of the knights and villagers were dead and Hiro was severely injured. Thanks to an enchanted arrow Seereon was able to poison Bahamut, forcing him to flee. As the kingdom began to rebuild they were faced with a hard truth, without Galdok and Seereon, they would not survive. But in order to save the world from obliteration, they had to leave and follow their destiny. It was the hardest thing for either of them to do but their final farewells were memorable.

The next Dragon God on the list held mastery of earth and life and was notorious for his cruelty against all creatures that weren't plants, and also one of the strongest and oldest of the twelve. Traveling to his realm lead the knights through dense jungles filled with carnivorous and prehistoric plant life pitting them against nature itself. Arriving to the realm of the God, Galdok's confidence was used against him placing him in a trap designed specifically for him. If it wasnt for Seereon's connection to the Fae King who sent his armies to help Seereon bind the God long enough to free Galdok and kill him the two would not have survived. It was the first time her true power was revealed and when she started to recieve visions of her death. Fearful of distracting Galdok from his mission she kept this secret while their journey continued.

Located within the Earth God's realm was a secret portal which would transport the two to the realm of the Mind and Power Dragon Gods. These Gods were unique in which they shared realms and were in constant struggle for control for the land. Many human lives were lost in their ruthless wars only to have the two gods duke it out until they wore each other out. The portal transported them directly to the center of the Collisium where the two Gods were preparing for a final strike to see if one would rise victorious. Paying the knights no mind the Gods chargrd and landed devasting blows on each other. Had they chose to acknowledge him they wouldnt have been easily dispatched in their weakened states. However lucky for Galdok, he was able to score two pieces of Heart after almost dying from the Earth Dragon. This was considered a gift yet spelled ruin for those close to Galdok.

The two liberated all the gladiator slaves and proceeded to the realm of Metal, governed by the Metal Dragon God. His realm was ran by technology far ahead of anything else in the world and the God himself actually resided in a seperate dimension altogether. It took days to discover how to sneak into the throne room of the God but all of it was for naught as the knights were brought to the dimensiom by an unknown force which they believed to be the God himself. Little did they expect that it was Hiro who had summoned them after slaying the God himself, a feat once thought impossible for a normal human. Seereon rushed to her grandfathers side excited to see him after they had been gone for months. However her happiness was cut short once Galdok pointed his blade at his master.

It was then she realized the dark aura which surrounded the smiling old man. In his free hand he had a box which harbored the final two dragon Heart pieces from the Light and Dark gods. When they questioned where he recieced them he was quick to reveal Bahamut had granted him power unlike any others and was prepared to kill them to take their pieces. It was clear he was being controlled by the Demon Lord and they had no way to free him, even with the power of the Mind Heart. Hiro told them the only way to stop him was to kill him and after a fierce fight lasting hours, the old warrior regained enough of his mind to halt himself for Galdok to bring a fatal strike to him. His dying breath was spent revealing Seereon's ultimate fate of dying in the final battle but with all the heart pieces Galdok felt confident he could save the world and the woman he loved.

Once all twelve pieces were placed inside Fangless, Galdok assumed it would become the weapon of legend needed to slay Bahamut. However Fangless seemed unchanged other than the normal boost it recieved on each heart piece. Using the power of the Metal God and his control of technology he returned with Seereon to the normal world only to return to a land filled with total ruin. What was hours to them was years in the real world and everything they knew was gone. Monsters, the undead, and demons ran rampant and signs of humanity seemed all but lost. The sun was eclipsed the entire time they made their trek back to Veilstone. Once they returned Bahamut made a point to signal his location residing in the castle. Smug upon the throne he had conquered many months ago the two noticed how he had transformed.

File 15JR07: Rose Wing

The second of the worlds created by the Architect was Rose Wing in which Cross who's true name was Charabel, was the Archangel of Chaos guarding the very nature of Chaos throughout the universe. Chaos was persona created by the Sleeping God who ruled the material plane before the Sleeping God grew tired of the Darkness. When the Sleeping God dreamt of a universe Chaos was sealed away and subjected to Fist of Order. Before the War of Transgression Charabel discovered Lucifers plan to lead a rebellion against the Sleeping God through a vision. In an attempt to stop the event which would certainly destroy the heavens Charabel committed the most dire of taboos and stole the Wrath of God (also known as Chaos) branding himself with the Mark of Chaos to become powerful enough to Rend Lucifer from the Sleeping God's memory. What he didnt realize was that the Chaos was a seperate entity from the Sleeping God and in taking its Mark, became a slave to its will and fate.

When the War of Transgression began Charabel stood alongside the other arch-angels on the frontline and went straight for Lucifer. Many had died, and those who did not were eternally scarred and through his new found power Cross ended the lives of most of the rebellious angels on his own. This granted him the title of Wing Reaver. It wasn't long before he stood before Lucifier and prepared to unleash his full might upon him when the Sleeping God woke up just for a moment to stop him from delivering the final blow. With one word the War had stopped and according to the Word of God, Charabel was taken prisoner by his brethern and sealed away in the deepest pit of Heaven.

Found guily of betraying the Sleeping God by those he fought and bled for, Charabel was exiled to Earth to live for eternity as the herald of destruction who would forever suffer the sins of man and the burden of their judgement. It was then that Chaos revealed itself to him claiming his true destiny was to restore Chaos to its throne of power ruling the material realm as it had done so before the seperation of Light from Darkness. Reluctant to serve Cross spent his time spreading chaos and disorder throughout the world of man, even watching Adam as he took the Fruit of Knowledge. His worst action, possesing the solider who killed christ. Using his own weapon, the Spear of Destiny which he used as an Archangel.

It wasnt until 2000 years after the death of Christ that everything had changed. Lucifer, now known as Satan made a bet with the Sleeping God for the fate of all mankind. The Sleeping God would choose one human, who would be without sin , who Satan would do everything in his power to corrupt. Should he succeed the human announce Satan as their Lord, then all humans souls who still had yet to be judged would belong to him. With all of those he would have the power to ascend back to heaven and kill the Sleeping God. Confident in his creation the Sleeping God agreed and thus Rosette Fairchild was born.

From the start, her life was plagued by tragedy and tribulation. A complicated birth took the life of her mother and at the age of five lost her father in a gang shooting. Her entire childhood she knew only loss and pain and yet she still remained faithful and pure. The angels had their doubts yet they were forbidden from directly interfering in her life so they came to the only being who could help, Charabel himself. The irony not lost on them in the least.

Witnessing humanity's faults and scarred by his kins betrayal, Charabel had no love for God's favored. Now angels weren't directly related to each other yet there were those who shared close relations with each other and to convince Charabel to help the archangels sent their greatest weapon against him. Luxia, the Fist of Order. She was his opposite, his twin, the one who's betrayel cut deepest . In order to appeal to the softer side he once had she willingly sacrificed her status as an Archangel and took on the life of a mortal with divine grace. Instantly Charabel tried to kill her and a fight between the two as well as Michael and Gabriel broke out luring Rosette as well as a group of demons to the ally they were in. After having to save her, Charabel found himself strangely attracted to the girl and finally agreed to protect her though his reasons remained unknown.

Satan sent his best to destroy the angels and kidnap Rosette intending to go a step further and make her his bride. Without anyone's knowledge Lucifer sent his eldest son to pose as Rosette's best friend only to have him betray her in her most dire of moments to convince her to abandon her faith in God. After months of being around each other, Rosette fell in love with Charabel and though he had developed feelings for her, he could now allow himself to be deterred from his one goal.

Things became shakey once the identity of her best friend was revealed and Charabel was forced to kill him in his human state right infront of Rosette. Feeling lost and overcome by what she thought was betrayel she was then tempted by Satan to perform a ritual which would summon him and his armies to Earth.

War broke out in the streets of New York and the society was torn apart. Little did anyone suspect, Michael and Gabriel had betrayed their kin, joining forces with Satan in an attempt to become Gods themselves. The only thing standing in the way of an early Apocalypse was Charabel and Seereon. While Seereon prayed to the Sleeping God for help Charabel went into battle becoming the monster he had always thought he was. When the dust settled, Charabel stood over the broken bodies of his brothers prepared to kill them all, only to be stopped by Rosette who pleaded for him to be merciful and restore the balance God had set up.

Fueled by raged he turned his eyes towards the very Gates of Heaven and attempted to pry them open by force because he had lost his faith in everything and decided if anyone should rule it should be him. Gathering enough power to tear the very universe apart Charabel ascended to heaven though Seereon stood in his way pleading for him stop. He easily pushed passed her colliding with the ethereal gates releasing the chaotic energy he accumulated over the entire history of earth. No other angel could even get near him and it seemed Charabel would succeed until the Sleeping God awoke just for a moment to strike him down sending him plummeting back to the surface. Rosette saw this and attempted to catch him as he fell completely ignoring the fact such a thing would surely kill her. However just before he fell on her Seereon possessed her body giving her angellic strength enough to catch him.

Failing at his attempted takeover Charabel spent the next month with Rosette who nursed him back to health who suddenly professed her love for him and promised to stay by his side for as long as she lived. Charabel agreed to personally protect her until her soul would one day return to heaven.
