Leader of Kagaku Ninja Tai Gatchaman!
Current mood:  accomplished

ᮿKen the Eagle

Ken Washio or Ken the Eagle/G-1 the Eagle {Whatever preferred alias he goes by}, is the leader of
the Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. Outside of this he's an avid fan of flying and is an exceptionally skilled air pilot,
with his own air delivery service. Ken was orphaned at the age of 11 when his mother passed away, and his father -who was also an air pilot- was presumed dead after a routine run went wrong years prior. He was taken in by a close friend of the family: Dr. Kozaburo Nambu, who as his guardian also trained Ken the advance style of Kagaku Ninpo (Science Ninja Technique).

As a result, Ken's specific ninja style specializes in stealth; using his speed augmented with other forms of tricks and illusions, to surprise or even on other occasions stun his target(s). Ken usually has a laid back, easily approachable, and easy going personality. However, when donning his Gatchaman persona his initial demeanor is replaced, with a more focused, calculating, and passionate -sometimes to an unnecessary extreme- mindset that proved evident as to why he was chosen to lead the 5-Squad team. As mentioned, Ken can be overwhelmed by his emotions when a situation becomes too heavy on his mind, which leads to many arguments with certain teammates. Thankfully, it's because he's in a team, they always find a way to bring Ken "back to Earth" and conversely he's able to understand his team's concerns, while also doing his best to solve what other problems they may have. Overall, he's held in high regard, especially by the youngest member of the Gatchaman team Jinpei, who refers to Ken as "Big bro".

Ken has also shown that he's got a bit of an oblivious side, specifically when someone shows romantic interest in him.
However, it could be noted that it's simply because he's far too focused on his job as both leader of Gatchaman and his other business obligations, a reality that often -comically- frustrates his teammate Jun.
