Biography

Younger brother of Former Captain of Squad 10 Souunkatsu Wataku, Suisei Wataku of Squad 3 and older brother of Taiyou Wataku of Squad 5.  He himself resides at Squad 13 at 4th Seat.  He had been a high loyalist of Captain Ukitake.  Constantly on at his guard posts.

Katsumaru Wataku had remained in Squad 13 for the longest time that he could remember.  Longer than any other squadmates who joined with him eventually transfer, resigned or killed in action.  He joined not long after Kaien Shiba and his older brother Souunkatsu Wataku had.  Unlike his brother in the academy who had a hard time learning to use his powers.  Katsumaru had no trouble figuring things out for himself.  He was no prodigy, but he was quick to catch on and learn.

While he quickly grasp the concepts of his soul reaper abilities, his spiritual pressure climbed the same rate as most Soul Reapers.  Becoming heavily reliant on hand to hand combat rather than his zanpakuto until his spiritual pressure had been strong enough to unlock his shikai.

Katsumaru has a strong relationship with his squad mates Rukia, Kiyone, Sentaro and his Captain.  He also has a strong relationship with his siblings.  Especially with his elder brother Souunkatsu Wataku.  After Souunkatsu's disappearance from the Soul Society, he thought he may have passed on.  Which forced Katsumaru to become the head of the Wataku family.  

Like his brother he was born albino.  Except he is only partially albino with only his hair becoming white.

Katsumaru's strongest ability is being very agile and can fight hand to hand combat very well.  Agility like a goshawk in a forest trying to catch a rabbit.  He often mixes hand to hand with his zanpakuto abilities and also with kido.
