Veronica Payle is a rather unusual example of her kind. Her eccentric nature is believed by the vampire council to be caused by her extreme age. Being older than every current member, she is more than entitled to a place at their table, yet chooses to not even entertain the idea. She does, however, still hold considerable influence with them; each of the members owing her at least one favour. While it can't be said that she stands above the council, her word alone has been known to sway their decisions.

As mentioned, she is rather eccentric for her kind. Enjoying playing pranks on the humans of the world. These can range from setting up elaborate "haunted houses" with years of work to build up their mystique and legend for her to spook people that choose to visit them, to simply floating outside of someone's window several floors up and staring at them until they finally notice her only for her to vanish.

Is rather fond of human children, despite the fact that most of them are terrified of her. Any that don't run away screaming, she'll gladly play all sorts of games with them and is fiercely protective of them.

In terms of a partner, she has no interest in others of her kind. Though has been shown to have a fondness for cute, younger human men... Many of whom being the targets of her previously mentioned 'window pranks.'
