A Christmas Revelation - a Sakura x Sasuke story.
Just wanted to share this Naruto piece I wrote, in which Sakura, Sarada, and Sasuke spend the Holidays together, although unknowingly, by next Christmas there would be another addition to their family. Enjoy!

Christmas was easily Sakura's favorite time of the year. Not only was there snow, and lots of the beautiful powder, but it also meant her family would be together. With Sasuke always gone or helping Naruto around the village, it was nice to have him home to spend time together with his wife and daughter. The pink-haired woman always looked forward to the end of the year; it meant time off, family traditions, time spent with friends, and good food.

They were typically off from their duties on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, unless an emergency came up at the hospital that Sakura was needed for, with Sarada being out of school for 2 weeks, so there was plenty of time to spend with one another. Some of Sakura's favorite things about Christmas had to be watching Sarada and Sasuke unwrap presents, seeing her friends such as Naruto, Hinata, and Ino, and also the cheesy Christmas movies. Ah, those Christmas movies had to be her favorite.

The three of them would throw on their cozy Christmas pajamas, after a bit of complaining and being forced to by Sakura, of course, and then lounge about in their living room and watch a Christmas movie. The pink-haired woman loved to grab a bunch of blankets, curl up together under them, her and Sarada on either side of Sasuke, and watch old classics. This year they had binge-watched the Home Alone movies, of which Sarada declared as her favorites yet. It was quality time as a family, Sakura would usually hold Sasuke's hand and lay her head on his chest; rare affection from her usually quiet and rather unaffectionate lover.

On Christmas morning, the family gathered to open presents. Sarada had woken them up fairly early, but Sakura couldn't complain. At least they were together and her daughter wanted to spend time with them. After brushing her hair, Sakura mosied to their living room and plopped onto the couch. Sarada opened her presents first, Sakura watching her daughters eyes and face light up with a bright shining twinkle in her own eyes. She was truly proud of her daughter and loved her so much. Sasuke too. Glancing between the two of them, Sakura couldn't help but feel tears welling up in her eyes.

Seeing the two of them smiling and laughing together, exchanging presents (Sarada, of course, having received the most... the girl had pretty much the entire living room filled with presents) made her emotional. In a good way, of course, but that didn't stop the tears. Sakura sniffled lightly as she felt a few tears roll down her face, wiping them away with the back of her sleeve. Hopefully, no one would notice. It was truly out of happiness and contentment. Her heart was full. There was nothing more Sakura wanted than what she had right now. Her family together, everyone happy, the village safe. Nothing to worry about.

She forced a smile onto her face as they continued with the gifts, Sasuke had gotten her an mp3 player and laptop, going above and beyond with her gifts. Sakura, again, felt like she wanted to cry, the tears threatening to brim back up in her eyes, but a bright red blush dusted her cheeks instead. The young woman wasn't entirely sure why she was so emotional, it had to be the Christmas spirit making her all mushy like this. When it came time for Sasuke's presents, Sakura handed him several wrapped gifts. He never wanted anything so she didn't go crazy, but this year she got him something he would really like. She just knew it would be a hit.

Of course, she got him all the essentials he would need. Some more socks, boxers, undershirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, long sleeves, all in his favorite colors. Sasuke never did any shopping for himself, it was mostly for Sakura or Sarada if he did do any shopping, but Sakura wouldn't let him go without. The highlight gift, however, was a framed painting of Itachi she had gotten commissioned by Sai and Ino's son, Inojin, who was quite talented with the paintbrush.

The painting was based off an old photograph of Itachi that Sasuke kept in the drawer by their bed. The picture was falling apart, time having worn it down, but Sakura was able to slip it to Inojin without Sasuke noticing to get an enlarged version of it painted. The painting itself was of Itachi, as in the photograph, but the backdrop was the night sky filled with stars and the elder Uchiha brother wore a smile on his face. There weren't any pictures of Itachi up in their house, the only photos being of Sakura, Sasuke, and Sarada, so Sakura couldn't wait to see the look on his face when he opened it!

When she handed him the wrapped gift, Sakura felt tears threatening to spill out once more. She was an emotional mess this morning! Sakura gently kissed him on the cheek, earning a groan from Sarada, before sitting back down next to her husband. She couldn't wait to see the look on his face when he opened this gift.
