The hustle and bustle of the daily civilian grind were on full display as it seemed like just another ordinary day. Birds chirped melodically, as if masking the sound of the crime-riddled underbelly of the filthy Vinci city, once known for being a place of creativity. Going to a big city like this is believed by many to provide opportunities to improve their comfort exponentially. But others usually end up in this city doing the same thing they tried to leave behind somewhere else. With this city representing all shades of grey, it has become a testament to the daunting task of pushing yourself to the point of having nothing left in the form of energy. In light of the living predicament of the suit wearers, there exist those that choose not to wear those violent shackles and live relatively average lives. Plenty of city folk wield dreams of adventure. Dreamers of this sort often being found spinning storied webs from their minds. It is one of the ways they save themselves from going insane. However, very few have taken the step to leave the city and go and set out on an adventure. For some, the sheer thought of this felt unfathomable due to their financially tightened pockets. While this stopped many, a few exist that were able to walk out into that figurative ocean and make it through the waves of burden that knock people down. One man, in particular, would choose today to begin a physical adventure that transcends that of a storybook with pages filled with what-ifs.

Sunlight spills through dusty blinds into a dark and unkempt room. Laying in a massive bed with layers of blankets on top of him, the young Luxifer Graelyn awoke. Long slender arms shot out from beneath these blankets like a creature straight out of folklore. His arms let off a satisfying popping sound before he brings them back down to pull the blankets off himself. With the blankets removed, the cold draft in the room pet the flesh of his exposed abs. He would lay there for a few more moments as he wanted to collect his thoughts properly. "Ahh... Another day in this sh*t hole. I am going to leave this place." He said in a deep tired sounding voice. Over on a writing desk nearby, there laid a notebook with all the ideas Luxifer has concocted thus far inside it. One of the ideas that consistently bounced around inside of his head was to get a large boat and explore the world and everything he had heard it could offer him. With his thoughts secured, he twisted his body and tossed his legs off the side of his bed. Pushing his palms into his knees, he stands up straight and then moseys over to his dresser. Staring into the dresser mirror, he fixed his bed hair and did it with no issue since he always had the tamest[lamest?] hair. However, it still did its job of making the purple from his eyes stand out alluringly.

Covering his body with an all-black fit, it consists of a short-sleeved jacket, a t-shirt, a pair of baggy jeans, and a slightly smudged pair of steel-toed combat boots. To onlookers, he probably looked like a brush that had its handle dipped in black paint[Wtf?]. Feeling like everything is squared away and all electronics are turned off, he went for a short walk to the dockyard because he knew there would be boats there and perhaps one might be for sale. There are a few times when he caught someone trying to sell a boat but every time he would be lacking in the fund's department. On the hour he arrived at the dockyard, his worst thought came to fruition. No boats are on sale? Damn. Despite this realization, he still took a walk along the dock. He showed no shortcoming of admiration for the boats roped in there at the docks. It was then suddenly out of nowhere he heard the voice of an older gentleman. "You there! What are you doing snooping around here?!" The hairs on his arms stood up because the old man's voice roared out authoritatively. And he knew that he did not look the part of something with an interest in boats. Turning around slowly, he saw the man sitting in a chair on the deck of his boat. He had the generic Hawaiian shirt, sandals, and shorts routine thing nailed in a scarily perfect way. "So um... I am here looking for a boat..."

The old man looked at Luxifer with an arched eyebrow. He noticed the old man doing this and let off a brief outburst of nervous laughter. The old man then stood up out of his chair and walked over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder with a firm grip. With a sense of intimidation in his voice, the old man asked, "Are you here to steal a boat? I cannot let you do something like that." And before responding to the old man he looked off at the sky and observed some clouds floating by. He was trying to think of what he can say to ease the old man's mind. In the end, he decided he should just be honest. "I come out here sometimes just to see if there is a boat for sale. I have had this desire for the longest time to get on a boat and then go on an adventure. And I always seem to be out of luck." He sighed, feeling the weightful pain of his words. The old man let go of his shoulder and instantly made an offer. "Listen... Kid... I could use some help with boat maintenance. I am getting up there in age and it just hurts doing some of the things that the boat requires of me." Luxifer's eyes lit up as bright as the sun in the sky. He just could not believe that this old man is offering him something like this. He wasted no time accepting the old man's offer. "Yes! I would love to help you with your boat. I just want to get out of here already, Old--"

"It's Roger." After finally offering Luxifer a proper introduction as to who he is, Roger extended his hand for Luxifer to shake. Luxifer shook his hand with zero hesitation and told Roger what his name is out of respect. Roger upon learning his name let off a slight chuckle. "You got a weird name kid." Of course, he knew that his name is weird. Something that only an out-of-touch father would name their child. After getting all of the pleasantries out of the way, both of the men climbed onto the boat together and detached it from the dock. Two strangers sailing off into the unknown world of the seemingly endless ocean. Despite it happening in real-time, he still could not comprehend that his dream to sail around and explore the world is finally happening. It is a comparable feeling to winning big on a lottery scratch-off. It is so unbelievably shocking that you spend about twenty minutes in pure disbelief. "I am going to be pinching myself forever." Luxifer in an almost confused daze walked passed Roger and took a seat on the back of the boat. Roger climbed onto the boat afterward and took control of the captain's wheel, clearing the dock and heading out further toward the adventure these two men were now destined to have. Luxifer would pinch himself and exclaim a loud "Ow!". To which Roger, concerned a bit for Luxifer's mental state, asked, "Did you just pinch yourself?"

After being out on the water for a while, he managed to get in some shut-eye while Roger did all the steering and monitoring. By the time he would be awake again, they will have arrived on a new island. This one looked tropical compared to the borefest of a city he ever so desperately wanted to get away from. Upon noticing that he is awake, Roger cheerfully welcomed Luxifer. "Welcome to Crowez Havana. Your first adventure will be here." Roger kicked Luxifer's feet off of the bench he had fallen asleep on. This forced Luxifer to wake up fast. He did his usual waking-up routine before stepping off of the ship. He waved goodbye to Roger and Roger without a single delay in his voice and told Luxifer that he needed to be back at the ship within a certain time. Crowez Havana looked like every other Caribbean island out there in existence but to him, it was all beautiful and brand new. The way he sees it his adventure has finally started. Before his slumber, and their arrival to Crowez Havana, Roger told Luxifer of a deep cave rumored to be full of treasure. He knew that it could have all been a lot of hooplas, but falling face first into the rumors are all a part of the experience. "Now I just need to find a goddamn tour guide."
