Job: Taking care of Earth's flora and fauna; Visit "important" and "virtuous" souls as they are dying to absolve them of their sins and personally guide them to heaven; Liaison between heaven and hell sent down to work specifically with Charlie and Lucifer; Maker of new plants and animals 

Personality: Similar to Emily, but more openly opinionated. More likely to sympathize with human souls of any kind because of her periodic time on Earth and her virtues.

Random Melanie Lore/ Headcanons:

• Melanie is canonically awful at cooking. No matter what she is making, it will manage to catch on fire. This is not for a lack of trying though! She will jump at any opportunity to try and cook something. However, due to her talent with plants, Mel can make a near-perfect cup of tea.
• Melanie was created after Lucifer's fall. Some think that she and Emily were created to take the place Lucifer once had.
• Melanie typically prefers animals over humans.
• While Melanie has the power to shapeshift, she prefers her more humanoid form over any animal or even her angelic form. However if she must transform into an animal, it will usually be either a holland lop bunny with the same color pattern as her hair or a pure white dove.
• If Mel is feeling any extreme emotion then her abilities react to that. For example, if she is elated then there is a good chance that nearby plants will grow and bloom around her, and she might even attract a few animals. If she ever finds herself extremely angry, nearby plants will die, and animals will feel a strong urge to run away from her. Because of this, Melanie does her best to keep her emotions in check especially when she is in the living world.
• Part of Melanie's skills comes from her natural talent with plants and animals from when she was created. Her skills were further honed because she served as an apprentice for one of the former angels of life who created and maintained the Garden of Eden.
• Like any other diligent caretaker, Mel does not have a favorites when it comes to her plants and animals! This is a lie. Her favorite animals are doves, snakes, bunnies, and manatees, and her favorite flowers are aqualilies and lily of the valley flowers.
• Melanie loves the humans on Earth. As the seraphim residing over the virtue of forgiveness, it is literally in her nature to forgive them for their transgressions against the Earth's plants and animals. However, she cannot help but be saddened and mourn the loss of so many of her creations that she cherished for many eons due to the humans' greedy nature. It is due to this that she is very reluctant to start creating new creatures and plants. Mel instead focuses her attention on doing her best to cultivate what is already on Earth.
