As a child, Ayamachi was taught to become a proper woman by the time she was an adult. Everything was cut short when her village was attacked, destroyed, and led to her being taken somewhere safe to wait for the rebuilding of her village. The morning after, from the shock, she had no recollection of who she was or what her purpose was anymore. She only had her name, and a little blonde haired boy who was her self-proclaimed new best friend.'

Naruto inspired her to enroll into the academy and become a ninja. His fire and drive leaked into her and caused a reaction. After graduation, and the chunin exams, Aya learned that perhaps being a ninja wasn't the thing for her. She tried hard, but her emotions were always there.

During a mission, her and her team encountered a ninja named Kanashi, and he constantly made appearances in her life at the most inopportune times. Eventually, he told her that he came from her home village, and in a peace treaty she was promised to him as an arranged wife. She fought him to grant herself freedom, but failed. He took her away back home to the rebuilt village where he forced her to remember through abuse and different recollection jutsu's.

Despite her horrible memories, she still had a wall in her mind that kept her from remembering things and she knew that wall was there. Before they could break it down, Naruto and his teacher, Jiraiya, rescued her from her captivity and destroyed Kanashi. They brought her back home, and Tsunade had decided that Ayamachi was no longer suited for work as a ninja. The Fifth Hokage gave her the position of Konoha's ambassador since her words were way more powerful anyway.

Most of her time was spent at home in Konoha, but sometimes she still wished for more. She could never kill someone, she couldn't stand to hurt people. Someone always went with her whenever she had to travel between villages, and it was always Naruto; her best friend.

Ayamachi has a water nature, so she loved swimming, the rain, anything to do with water. Wherever there was water, that's where she spent her free time. She always kept to herself, but after she got her memories back, she was more reserved and lady-like than ever.

Even after Naruto left for his training, Ayamachi stuck behind and waited for the day he returned so that they could continue to enjoy ramen and misbehave.
