What is a man without a name? Forgotten, nothing truthfully. He is a shell of what he once was. He is discarded, thrown overboard to drown in the waters of history. A legend never dies they all say, but the victors get to write history in their own image don’t they? They decide on the legends, of who did what, of when this and that happened. Ever wonder what would happen if that man without a name came back seeking revenge?
The world would be split asunder.
Brian Avado Ultima, the Black Emperor, the only rival to Morgoth K. Rivah, was lost to history. Many – if not all – thought him to be dead. Truth was, in a way, he was, but there was more to it than that. He was tired, he had spent his whole life from the moment he could comprehend the world’s state trying to save it. He lied, cheated, stole, murdered, overall committing nearly every crime imaginable to reach an era of peace for the world. He succeeded, but only in part; the peace was a lie, easily broken, and relied on those he personally rose up from nothing.
He couldn’t have predicted their level of greed. When he vanished so too did their loyalty, rushing for the throne in vain. They hadn’t expected the eldest son, Daivichi Ultima, to start caring about his father’s legacy at the last moment possible. While kept at bay, they were quick to sow the seeds of discord and destruction; if they couldn’t have the power of the throne, then none could - - the world would suffer. And they were victorious, summoning the Void, terraforming the land of the Ultimas’ capital into a Hellish image of what it once was. Many saw Brian there in the final moments, fighting against the creatures of Naught, and die in one of his student’s – Stannis Faro Eridian’s – arms. What none realized was that it was a ploy, a doppelganger that Morgoth had found, enslaved and sent forth with the fraction of the Black Emperor’s strength. It was to prepare for the future, as even the Void itself would come under assault - - the predator turned into the prey.
While they waited for the destined moment of prophecy, Brian disappeared with Morgoth and became a nomad; turning into the former shell of power that he once was. He became the polar opposite of his previous personality, changed nearly the entirety of his look, and let time ravage his mortal shell. He had a significantly longer lifespan than humans, even more-so than his fellow clansmen, and felt it was overall just time to let the newer generations of warriors to take the spotlight.
What no one predicted however, was the death of both of Brian’s children. And angry was no longer a suitable word to describe how he felt. While he would honor his promise to Morgoth he also intended to repay those responsible. If they already passed on to the afterlife, then he would make their descendants suffer. A parent’s fury knew no bounds, especially his.
Hell hath awoken upon the Earth once more.
