No one in the Batman Family had an easy childhood, but Cassandra Cain may have had the worst. Raised from infancy under the tyrannical and abusive thumb of her father, the world-class assassin David Cain, Cassandra was taught violence before she was taught anything else—even how to speak. Cassandra was completely mute and unable to read; her ability to fight was her "first language." Her father considered language and literacy a waste of memory and brain space for someone training to be the perfect weapon. Despite her father's abuse, Cassandra understood the difference between good and evil. As she grew older, she realized what her father had done to her and escaped him, fleeing to Gotham City where her life would be forever changed for the better. After proving herself to Batman and his allies, she was taken under Bruce Wayne's wing and taught to use her unique skills to be a hero. 1.) Cassandra has limited speech and reading skills, but instead is able to interpret even the smallest movements as though they're telegraphing a person's every intention. This means that she doesn't talk much and when she does it's usually only a few words at a time. She can understand people no matter what language they speak, not because she understands vocal language, but because she can read their intentions through the minute details given off by their body language. Because of this, I ask that if you ever lie to her you mention somewhere in your post that your character is lying so I can have Cassandra respond appropriately. The same goes for how your character feels, even if they try to hide it, Cassandra can tell. 2.) Yes, Cassandra is one of the best fighters in the DC universe and is supposed to know over 100 different fighting styles, but despite that I'm not going to worry all that much about the realism or details behind the way she fights. When she does fight, I'm going to focus on keeping it simple and having fun with it and give her more of an acrobatic fighting style. Also, I'm not all that interested in hyper competitive fights where we fight just for the sake of fighting. I prefer to focus more on character relationships and story telling. If that involves our characters fighting, that's fine, but I want it to mean something. 3.) I prefer communicating and Role-Playing through messages and dislike using comments. 4.) I'm new to the world of superheroes and crime fighting so I hope you'll be flexible with me as there is still much for me to learn. I'll do my best, but I can't guarantee anything. 5.) I'm not interested in smut with this character. If you like my writing style and want to experience what I'm capable of with more adult themes, ask. I have other characters for that sort of thing. 6.) When it comes to Role-Playing, I am open to either discussing a scene or improvising and just seeing what happens. Whichever you prefer. If I get a random starter from you I'll assume you have some kind of idea in mind and do my best to follow your lead to make a fun and awesome moment between our characters, no matter how short it lasts. 7.) "No... killing." |
