Kagura Mutsuki

Kagura Mutsuki, also known as the
Black Knight or the
Black Gale, is the
colonel of the Novus Orbis Librarium, and the head of the Twelve Originators’ Mutsuki family, as well as a secret disciple of Tenjō Amanohokosaka and a bodyguard of Tenjō’s child,
Homura. First introduced in
BlazBlue Chronophantasma, the 3rd game in the series, he has since become one of the main characters. He is voiced by the late Keiji Fujiwara, with Grant George providing his English dubbed voice. Kagura has a notably laid back attitude, taking things very casually, in stark contrast to most characters in the
BlazBlue series, more empathic to the people than the government.
His signature trait is his tendency to flirt with almost any woman he encounters. After teaming up with
Kokonoe Mercury to help subdue Azrael, the two have formed a close bond, and Kokonoe is among the few women Kagura did not try to make moves on and holds great respect for. Contrasting his lecherous nature, Kagura is against objectifying women, and will not stand to see them hurt. This is best exemplified when Kagura became
enraged and tried to kill Arakune when the latter attacked Noel, showing a protective side to him that likely extends to all women. He is also surprisingly humble as he frequently attributes his many
“successes” to the fact that he has
“great subordinates”. He also tries to give Ragna advice and words of wisdom to help him understand his reason for fighting and later develops a level of respect towards Ragna after the battle with Azrael. Despite his name, he is actually of Canadian heritage.
After his near death experience against Hades Izanami, Kagura's soul was briefly transported to the Makai region. In an unprecedented twist of fate, Kagura has since fallen for Lilith Aensland, whose charm has subdued Kagura’s ladykilling ways... “
