"You don't believe in ghosts...? Then what do you think I am? I don't hang out around here just for fun, you know. You think this place brings me a certain joy, or maybe that I like it? No. This is where I died. In that room, right down the hallway. You can still see the bloodstain from where my chest was ripped open..."
Lyn is a simple spirit wandering the heart of the highschool he died in. The school fell into disrepair after his death, leaving the yurei to wander the halls in solitude, dissipating into urban legend. He is generally pacifistic and does not wish to harm anyone, but has been known to have dangerous fits of rage that can result in the deaths of those nearby.
Being trapped in a world you don't belong to is physically and mentally taxing. Having never gotten the opportunity to complete his unfinished business in the corporeal world, he remains adrift between the realms of reality, frequently altering real life objects to make his presence known. He is still a child in many ways and lacks proper maturity to grow, calling for attention from the city around him at the outrage of his unsolved, seemingly forgotten, death. He interferes with powerlines, disconnects stoplights, and sends the whole city into darkness with the whisper "I'm still here" lingering.
Many have marked these incidents as nothing more than an old town with its old problems. The mysterious death of a quiet, orphan boy was once the buzz story when it occurred in 1984, but as no evidence seemed to arise for a culprit, the incident was swept under the rug, and the gruesome murder of a boy was quickly dismissed and forgotten. All that was left to document the incident were spare newspaper clippings locked deeply into a library vault, unlikely to see the light of day ever again.
Some have heard the stories and attempted to visit the school and speak with the spirit. Most return unscathed, but those who are bold enough to disrespect the spirit inside do not ever make a return to the living world. If you find yourself trapped in a dark school, cornered by a glowing white figure piercing the darkness, then remember to mind your manners.
TL;DR -- Scary ghost haunts school but just wants a friend.
