Raihan’s mother came from Alola. It’s a yearly tradition at this point for him to take a couple weeks vacation there after the Gym Challenge ends to see friends and extended family. ‘Vacation’ though doesn’t mean he won’t train. Raihan always takes the opportunity to train with his Pokemon in a different environment, different weather and without Dynamaxing Duraludon.

Since his father is the League’s chairman, Raihan takes it upon himself to work even harder not only to beat Leon fair and square, but to prove everyone that he deserves the title of ‘strongest gym leader in Galar’. Blood has nothing to do with the time and effort he puts into his daily training and he likes to think he earned his gym’s leadership on his own.

Raihan owns a small house in Hammerlocke, which he keeps a secret from most people. To avoid being followed by fans or media, he’s used a Ball Guy costume more than once to sneak out of the gym incognito.
