The Chief of the Peace Keeping Berau, or PKB, Gummie is in charge of maintaining order and peace from within the jurisdiction of Blue City centuries past the events of Chaotic Century. While often loud and burtish, Chief Gummie actually has a soft spot for folks and generally has good intentions as he takes his job seriously. To him, the people of Blue City- their safety and well being always came first even at the expense of his own life if need be.
As mentioned before he might be loud and prefer fighting and action as opposed to cloak and dagger tactics, but beneath that is a gentle giant. A man with a "southern-style" dialect and mannerisms to compliment his entire personality. He's just as likely to give someone a full blown earful about the law as much as he is willing to tackle down suspects and place those under arrest. He even loves his job, taking great pride in being the city's chief, however if there is one thing he hates more than anything else is the paperwork and politics that have become a packaged deal. In fact, he often puts off the paperwork temporarily whenever possible. And to those he calls friends, even though they might get on his nerves and agitate his very soul at times, he has been shown to let them off with minor warnings for simple-less serious infractions such as speeding, or piloting mechs in no-mech areas.
With the perks of being this city's official police chief, Gummie also has the pleasure of piloting its largest Mech, a Giga. Its daunting size and impressive level of firepower can crush tear open a hostile suspect's mech like a tin can- However in most cases, this is rarely ever needed as its sheer size and aesthetics are enough to deter would-be criminals. And because of this, Gummie has often called his Giga, the "PKB's Big Stick."
His job isn't always easy as catching local thugs, and halting speeding Mechs. It's actually just the opposite. In his time, he has had to make tough calls, loose loyal officers, and put away serious criminals, corrupted politicians, and deranged lunatics. But perhaps the worst of the lot was a man known simply as Marvis. A once respected Mech competitor, turned murderer. A criminal mastermind whom used the PKB and various other competitors for their combat data, only to turn on them once he had all the necessary information he needed, and systematically wipe out anyone that piloted a Mech, just for the sheer pleasure of being the strongest warrior. This man had caused Gummie to loose trusted friends on more than a few occasions, and the two would meet time and time again and each time he would slip away or pin Gummie in a dicey trap. The Moriarty to his Holmes. Eventually, Marvis was captured after a long manhunt, and trap set just for him. But even after being imprisoned for years, Gummie would not hear the last of this vile criminal. Eventually he would escape, and cause havoc for those of Blue City; leaving Gummie to once more track down and hunt this killer with the assistance of a local Combat team. But, despite their efforts, Marvis proved to be too powerful and efficiently took out each member before retreating into hiding.
Months would pass until Marvis finally showed up in a surprise return. Gummie's own Mech, the Gigas was recently disabled from a rampage as a result of sabotauge. Gummie had been up to his neck in political strife, and civil unrest as people began to question the efficiency of the PKB's ability to defend this city. Riots were breaking out, and the threat of civil war was looming over this once peaceful city~ all the while a political coup was now under way. In the end, Gummie was found incompetent for his inabilities to pacify the riots, and reduced to a mere traffic control officer, and the PKB was completely converted into a private military for use in a declared martial law. When he had learned of the conspiracy, Gummie began a resistance movement to usurp their newly appointed politician and his private army, only to be defeated and locked away. Just as his career seemed finished though, luck would be on his side, as he was sprung from his cell a few nights later by a band of Mech Pilots whom took up arms against the usurper. In the end, Gummie was reinstated, and the PKB established, where it would remain until the great cataclysm which wiped out nearly 90% of all life on Zi.
