Night is a unique pokemon... well if you want to caall him a pokemon. A pokedex does register him as a pokemon but it also informs the trainer unknown species of Umbreon. This is due to the fact that Night is an escaped lab experiment. He was created rather than hatched from an egg. He escaped from a Team Rocket lab and is only identified as Experiment 911 which is tattooed on the inside of his left ear.
With sleek black fur which is softer than anything known on the planet. And the markings of a shinny pokemon. Night looks like any other shinny pokemon But isn't as he is shunned by other pokemon because his scent isn't like other Umbreons. As well as his DNA has been altered to have a unnaturally strong pheromones. Making him immune to other pheromones. Another after effect of the testing done on him is his body metabolizes electricity and makes him stronger. Though after hundreds of tests, injects and hundreds of battles...He had become different.. more intelligent.. more battle hardened. Yet never once would a pokeball actually work on him as he was created and not hatched. His understanding allowed him to read. From inside his cage he could see a sign that reads "TO OPEN DOOR LIFT LATCH." Night's paw reaches out of the cage and lifts it. The door swings open with a CREAK and he found freedom.
In addition to his new found intelligence.. Night also discovered an ability he found revolting about himself. The one thing he had never wanted to become in his eyes. Was the form like that of his captors.
