From a simple village dweller to becoming the hero of Ferroterra, Arashi has come a long way as a person and as a Zoid rider.
Arashi was born to a simple village, and like most the people there feared the presence of both wild and tamed Zoids. But, he did not. Like his father, Arashi adored Zoids and wished to follow in his father's footsteps to become a powerful, and legendary Zoid seeker.
At sic years of age, Arashi's home village and perhaps much of the surrounding area was about to be obliterated by a falling meteorite. In what would have been the final moments of his life, his father managed to step up and use his mighty Zoid to destroy the spaceborn object, thus saving the city and its people. But, despite his efforts, the town still feared the power that Zoids possessed. His father knew that it would take more than that to sway them to accept these creatures as mindless monsters, and thus set out on an adventure to find incredibly rare Wild Zoids and to teach those around him. This would be the final inspiration for Arashi to go out and find a Zoid of his own, to follow in his father's footsteps. This however came with heavy protests from his Grandfather. A man that was equal parts strict and caring.
This didn't stop Arashi for a second. For ten years he would sneak out of the village to capture any Zoid he could, much to his own embarrassing failure. But, on the tenth anniversary, he would encounter a band of Zoid seekers lead by the legendary Quade and his Fang Tiger, along with a rumor of a powerful and dangerous Zoid, a Wild Liger- which apparently was a beast of legend. Since then, he felt pulled to meet and tame this Zoid. His chance came the next day as he came face to face with the Zoid. It was wary of humans, and for good reason. Liger had been injured after fleeing from its captors, a motley crew calling themselves the Dark Metal Empire. Arashi could not stand how these oddballs were treating this Zoid and would go on to sacrifice himself just for the Zoid's sake.
But to his surprise, he was able to partially bond with the Zoid and fight off the Imperial troops; all thanks to a special item given to a Zoid rider after this bond. Known as a Zoid key, this taps into a hidden power known as a Wild Blast, which greatly increases attack and speed abilities, while also unleashing a special hidden weapon within the Zoid. As the village settled, and the battle over, Arashi gained word of a mysterious legend known as Ancient Treasure Zi, and that the Empire was after it. This would spark the beginning of a country wide adventure with Liger.
Though both Arashi and Liger had bonded, their time together was not always easy. In the beginning, Liger and Arashi were always at odds with one another, to the point where Liger would often disobey or outright ignore his orders. It took a great deal of training, patience, and understanding to finally come to terms, and when they did, both Liger and Arashi were inseparable; a true force to be reckoned with. And this would be important, for the Empire was on the move with terrifying new weapons and Zoids in an attempt to conquer the world.
Arashi would need a team and friends if he were to survive out on his own. And thus the team was created. Initially, he decided that this team was something simple, with a crude drawing of Liger's face on a badge to signify their status. But this would only last for a few days until Arashi came across another Zoid seeker named Battalia, whom after working together created Team Freedom- and that name would stick. They would travel on and off together, meeting and adding new members until the team was strong enough to face the Emperor before it was too late.
Many battles were fought along the way, much with the Empire, and Arashi would loose friends, suffer defeats, and with it earn hard-fought battles. Though these lessons were harsh, it did help him grow in the long run.
