Appearance and Personality -
Kurenai is a young man with black hair and purple-red eyes. He's been described as being a pretty boy and is usually seen wearing his United Front uniform which consists of a black shirt along with a white jacket with a cross. He also wears white trousers along with a black belt and metal chain. .
Kurenai is first seen to be a very elegant, kind and gentle man, embodying the principals of the fairy tale Prince. However, underneath his calm atmosphere, he is shown to have inherited his Mother Akeno's tendency to be highly sadistic in battle and doesn't show any mercy or remorse towards the enemies he slays, casually keeping up his smiling elegant persona over an enemy's death and showing an expression of pleasure and lust upon delivering them pain. Despite this, Kurenai generally is very polite to those he is close.
Just like his other siblings, Kurenai shares his Father's perversion and at times can be extremely perverted and even though he has this shortcoming, his lovers and friends still care for him since he always takes care of them to a great extent.
Abilities/Tools:
Holy Lightning: Kurenai's skill that he inherited from his mother: Akeno. He combines the power of light and lightning to create Holy Lightning. His mastery of Holy Lightning grants him immunities from electric attack and effects such as shock and paralysis.
Black Lightning: An evolved form of Holy Lightning that is a mixture of Akeno's Holy Lightning and Issei's Infinity Aspect from Ophis. This Form clads Kurenai in Black Lightning that grants him speed as fast as genuine light when he evoke the ability. It also grants him a feline athelcism that allows him to perform a superior physical stuns that shouldn't be possible for normal human. He can slow down his fall or generate a huge shockwave by running. It is even possible to leave a multiple afterimages as a decoy to his enemy. It is favorite and most used ability.
Onmyoudo Arts: Being descended from the Himejima Clan, Kurenai has learned Shamanic Arts from his Aunt Suzaku Himejima. He is capable of summoning shikigami as well as powerful Barrier and sealing techniques. He is even able to call upon Houou which is similar to the Vermillion Bird Suzaku Himegami can summon.
Primal Eclipse Dragon Saber: Formerly known as Artificial Sacred Gear Prototype No.14: Sword of the Chaos Shadow Dragon Mk. II Ver. 3.891 (name had to be changed due to complaints about Kurenai's habit of giving long names). It is an Artificial Sacred Gear created by Kurenai. Kurenai revives and "hires" Apophis and places him in the core. Initially, the Sword governs the darkness and shadows allowing Kurenai attack through shadows and binding people through their shadows.
Primal Eclipse Dragon Scale Mail: Alternative Type: The Artificial Sacred Gear's equivalent to the Balance Breaker known as 'Counter Balance' which creates a black and Crimson Dragon armor around Kurenai which enhances his powers and abilities and grants access to Apophis special triat 《Primordial Waters》which produce and manipulate large volumes of Black Water to submerge his surroundings and attack his opponents. This water is extremely deadly, as it is capable of dissolving anything it came into contact with. Its dissolving properties were powerful enough to wound even God-class beings, like Loki.
Fallen Arcana: Also known as the Dark Knight Pendulums, are a set of 21 cards used by the Fallen to increase their ranks by reincarnating others into Fallen . The Fallen Arcana are based on the Evil Pieces system of the Demons and the Brave Saints system of the Angels, albeit being based on a suit of tarot cards rather than chess or playing cards.
Fallen Arcana - The World: An arcana based on the concept of "sharing one's belongings to others", Kurenai can "loan" his magic and mana to his arcana.
Genius Intellect: As one of the greatest minds aside from Ajuka and Azazel, Kurenai has near impeccable intellect, memory, and knowledge taught from Azazel's virtual lessons. He nearly knows almost all about the various mythical items, beings, secrets, and histories around all the other world's factions.
Master Inventor: Kurenai is regarded by many in DxD as a passionate inventor and researcher who enjoys investigating, studying, and inventing various items, the most notable being Sacred Gears. A testament to his tutelage of Azazel, he created the second generation of Artificial Sacred Gears such as the Primal Eclipse Dragon Saber, Boosted Gear D, Gigantis Maiden Robe, Billion Blades Work, Enchanted Eyes of Annihilation, Silver Palace of the Snow Maiden and others, most of which being handed off to his siblings and his team. Kurenai is considered one of the leading expert in Sacred Gears and magical artifacts able to help others in mastering theirs and using items he created to handle them.
Master Tactician: Kurenai is also an expert battle tactician able to lead the entire United Mythological Front in assortment of dangerous battles against powerful opponents following the incidents involving the U.L. He acted as one of the battle tacticians alongside the Norse, Greek, and Hindu Factions during the Nemesis incident in defeating the Old Darkness Faction and their last two leaders. Caesar credited him as being a scientist-based warrior who studies his opponents until his battle strategies are flawless to the point where he'd be in a dangerous position in a second battle. After the formation of the Blackburn, aside from being the adviser of special technology, Kurenai acts as the strategist and their tactician commander.
Master Adviser: Despite his laid-back nature, Kurenai is one of the most observant within the Faction. He's primarily known for training several powerful Artificial Sacred Gear users who were initially novices such as Integra, Yuya, Isabelle, Annabelle, and other members of the Blackburn Team who'd all become some of his greatest students, the most notable being Tielacra.
Master Politician: As a student of the former Governor General of Grigori, Kurenai is a highly skilled and experienced politician, particularly in diplomacy. He could maintain friendly relationships with the former chief deities of the Norse and Greek Factions Thor and Apollo as he could enlisted their help in dealing with terrorist threats from the U.L.
