Life is an unpredictable game of chance with many twists and turns. Katsurō had some time to experience this firsthand throughout his life. His early years were filled with difficult situations when he was born into a poor but gluttonous family that got into their lifestyle due to their own undoings. Born as the first child of what would eventually become five, Katsurō was the first to bear witness to their greed as soon as he could start roaming around on his own he was forced to get his own sources of meals as his parents didn't want freeloaders. With no skill on how to hunt or gather Katsuro had to learn fast to properly steal and beg to prevent himself from starving. The countless failed attempts that led to him receiving beatings from those he stole from and his parents for being caught merely molded him physically and mentally all while honing the craft. When his siblings came into the picture he attempted to have them follow his path of survival in odds to raise their odds. Still, they, unfortunately, picked up the greedy behaviors of their parents and started blackmailing each other to share their catches every time they manage to be successful. And what was their parents' response to this? They wholeheartedly supported this as they wanted to pit the siblings against one another. They would even praise the one that ratted the others out and offer them some of their own food. Life really became a struggle once more than...but all that changed in a single night.

After one massive heist failure and coming back bound with ropes while insults were being hurled at him and his parents for their inability to discipline their child properly, they made up their mind and sold him off to a wandering band able to cough up the asking price. As luck would have it this wandering band wasn't anything dangerous like bandits but rather a group of ex-swordmen wandering the countryside. When probed on more info by the young boy, they disclosed themselves as once being a part of a secret organization known as the Demon Slayer Corp but no longer. This band of ex-demon slayers took the troublesome young male in and before long taught him the ways of the old profession. This seemed like it was going to be a blissful part of Katsurō's life, out from being a common thief to fighting off hunger to being trained to becoming a special swordsman but life was readying another curveball for him and the band as rumor of a flame breath user in the traveling group brought forth the attention of some 'hunters' of it.

Not much is known about Storm Breathing or who truly came up with it. All that is said about it is from second-hand witnesses of its might in action. Said to be a hybrid of both water and wind breathing even though it shares no appearance of either breathing. This is likely due to both the current user's of it physical strength and the style of his sword. because of that, this breathing style utilizes a different strategy than other breathing styles. Instead of precise slashes done by thin blades to cut, this style utilizes kinetic energy impact to produce its cutting capability.

Abilities and Gear

Nichirin Sword- Katsurō's sword is a halberd sword said to be as big as he is tall and is a width monstrosity that can't possibly split a sheet of paper in two let alone slash a demon head off. At first glance at it, one might be able to put logic to those words. The blade was much too wide and girthy to have a precise point to properly cut like most blades but when experts lay eyes on the weapon he wields they would go running in fear and start hiding their hard work. Why? Because this weapon uses its odd features to add to its durability and weight to not only add more force/momentum to its blow but more likelihood for it to survive it as well in one piece.

Demon Slayer Mark- Rumored to be the star mark resting on top of his head a demon slayer mark is said to be a mark when a slayer is met with surviving extremely life-threatening conditions, specifically, a heart rate of over 200 beats per minute and a body temperature of over 39° Celsius. The purpose of this dangerous mark is not completely clear but it's said to unlock more of a slayer's power but at the cost of shortening one's life. The ifs and how Katsurō got his is still a mystery though.

The Transparent World- The ability to perceive the inner works of other living beings and what is assumed to be slow motion while the user's body is still able to react at normal speed. It's unknown if Katsurō has this.
