What may appear to be a cute, young soldier parading about on the battlefield, couldn't be father from the truth. Behind those crystalline eyes and endearing smile, hides a darkness unlike any other. A warrior who's kill count surpassed most in her ranks of the Empire. Tanya Von Degurechaff, ranked Colonel within her respective nation is perhaps one of the most decorated officers, let alone the youngest.
But she is not truly like those of her age. For, she has the memories and "soul" of another human from an alternate universe. A salary-man, who's crude need for survival and atheistic views helped him climb to a high place on the social ladder. But, while his shrewd logic brought him far in life, it was also his undoing. He had fired a poor employee, and in a fit of rage, murdered the salaryman. But, just before he was killed, time itself froze. And soon, he would come face to face with a superior being calling itself God. However, he would not accept this claim, as he stayed true to his beliefs in science and logic. In response, the entity, whom he called Being X, declined a chance at simple reincarnation. Instead, brought him into a different reality where the harshness of war ravaged a country much like his own, albeit unending~ into the soul of a girl. In this reality, now Tanya would have to learn how to survive, and climb to the top, and as she would hope, without the aide of Being X. If anything, she would see him as nothing more than an arrogant obstacle in her existence.
In this reality, Tanya soon developed exceptional ability to wield magic, and as the war raged, the nations conscripted magic users when they were old enough. She on the other hand viewed it more efficient and prudent to begin her training at just nine years old. At first she was nothing more than morale boosting, a cute kid in a soldier's uniform. But, her tenacity, sharp wit, and eagerness to survive, caught the attention of the military brass and thus Tanya made a meteoric rise to an officer's career and eventually a battalion commander. While she is absolutely brutal and merciless in combat, she does at times show a softer side towards her allies in her own twisted way. In fact, despite claims of her absolute barbarism in combat, Tanya despises the war, and many of the upper brass involved in it. From downright wasting resources, to needlessly ending lives of soldiers. In the same note, she absolutely refuses to use civilians as targets with only one exception for when she was blinded by rage for when her own people were bound, tortured, and killed while defenseless.
All in all, she is just a person trying to survive in a total war torn world.
