Keisuke was raised in a normal household, at least as normal as it could be for him, he was adored and spoiled by his parents growing up. When he was about 10 years old, his life took a change and molded him into the man that he is today.
His father, Isao, passed away after struggling with cancer. Keisuke's mother, Natsume, was a doting wife to him and tried everything to extend his years here on this life. Medicine and prayers weren't enough to keep him alive. The sudden death of her husband triggered something in Natsume, she mourned, but now she became overprotective of her only son. To the point of locking Keisuke in the basement, keeping his friends away, and constantly taking him to the doctor--for fear, that Keisuke would share the same fate. Keisuke loved his mother as any child would, and simply trusted that his mother knew best. So, when she left him in the basement for days at a time, fed him until he threw up, or made him wear sweaters in the summer to hide the bruising from too tight restraints--he trusted...that she knew best.
"My sweet Kei. Love is doing everything for someone, even if they don't realize they need it."
Keisuke took that to heart for the 8 years he had with his mother. That even if it hurt, he didn't like it or didn't understand...she was doing it because she loved him. That was enough for him. There were multiple mental breaks that his mother experienced, imagining her husband was still with them or outright forgetting her son--but, in his eyes, she couldn't do any wrong. She loved him, after all.
His mother committed suicide in front of him, hallucinating that her husband was begging to see her, and Keisuke still hasn't properly processed it for himself. He even dislikes discussing it with anyone. He has left a sizable inheritance from his parents, which he currently lives on
