Primary Story
Many years ago there lived a young woman by the name of Momoe who loved nothing more than to gaze up at the night sky, most of all the bright and beautiful moon above. One day the moon god Tsukuyomi descended from Takamagahara and happened upon the captivated mortal woman. She was beautiful by human standards, and he found himself drawn to her and they ended up spending a passionate night together before he returned to the heavens. They could not have known that it would result in the conception of a new being not of either world. Months later Asami was welcomed into the world and though her mother was enamored by the god up above she felt that it would be best Asami never learn of her father, and so young Asami grew believing she was a yokai hanyou. Thanks to her connection to the moon she inherited the ability to absorb the life force of those she touches and as a young child she would unintentionally take her mother's life force away causing her to pass away when Asami was twelve. Growing into adolescence she kept to herself to protect those around her, leading people to believe she was cold and uncaring. When she reached fifteen she began to contemplate leaving her home in Osaka in preference for a more rural local. When she left, she was preyed on by a group of men who attempted to capture her to sell. The men had already abducted one other girl and allowed for very little space between them while they travelled. Asami willed herself to avoid taking any of the other woman's life force. It wasn't until they stole the other female away one night and the only thing Asami could remember was the agonizing pleas and desperate screams that were torn from her captive companions mouth as they ravaged her. The girl never returned to the caravan and when the men attempted to add a replacement for the woman Asami's rage overflowed. She didn't know how to fight but this is when she learned she could control the amount of life force she stole, and she stole every bit from her captors in retribution. When they were dead, she helped the girl return home. Her parents had been so relieved they welcomed Asami to stay. After resting and recuperating Asami felt it was time to move on. As she travelled she felt it would be best to learn how to defend herself and so she seeked out someone who could teach her how to do such. After years of training she became well versed in the art and decided it was time to move on. And so she began to wander once more, searching for a place to settle and call home. (More TBA)
