From the first breath of life — tears caressed the visage of Mitsu. A growing soul whose fate would be encompassed with sorrow, beginning with her beloved family. A would be doting mother, passed away after giving birth. Her father, unable to cope with the loss of his love, was captured, tortured and killed by the Garlean Empire. Her elder brother, a protector with a brilliant heart that was lost in the chaos brought on by Bahamut. The tears that spilled in their memories, seemed infinite.

Solitude. A way of life she knew too well. Those of her homeland disregarded her — a plague of death and sorrow. So called friends, all too ready to slay the dragon of woe for an exchange of gold. Acquaintances, not batting an eye while spreading their rumors and wicked scripts. Yet, Mitsu held no contempt for them — instead she would weep for them. Shedding tears for their fall from grace until she left a place she could no longer call home.

Among her travels, over the years, Mitsu's life had become woven with threads she knew not of. During an incident involving a child and a burial, she lost conscious and woke in the midst of travel into Gridania.

With victory in hand, Mitsu had become a Warrior of Light — though her fate was far from over. With a flash of luminescence, she was summoned to the Heaven of Water where she would be blessed by the meeting of the weeping goddess. Nymeia finding a certainty and solace within Mitsu, the goddess dubbed her as the Saint of Sorrow.

After the ceremonial blessing, Mitsu was sent to slumber in crystallized form — hidden beneath the snowy mountains of Coerthas. Only to wake when the time comes to complete her oath.
