Personality: As a child Maaya is a kind and playful girl. She has a great level of respect for her grandfather and often finds herself defending his choice in raising her secluded on their island. Being rather brave for a girl her age she doesn't mind finding herself in dangerous situations and gets a thrill out of her many near-death experiences taking them as a lesson to be learned (which she never really fully learns). After watching a martial arts tournament, she grew a strong interest in fighting which became the building point for her desire to protect Earth. She is smart when it comes to making toys and turning them into real weapons she can use (like her toy gun she carries on her person) but an idiot when it comes to judging a situation or people’s intentions. She can be easily manipulated due to her naive and trusting nature and generally follows the rule of "You aren't a bad guy unless you try and hurt my friends".
As a teen she takes on a more serious role. Wanting to create something that can protect the people of Earth from stronger species rather than toys that can amuse herself. Though maintaining her naive nature, she becomes more aware of her own limits. Opting out of purposely looking for danger she focusses more on learning more about creating things that can help people in the long run looking up to the Bulma Briefs. Despite her age she lacks interest in things most girls her age grow into and as such can’t understand and process emotions leaning on the romantic nature. Maaya doesn’t understand flirting and although knowledgeable about certain things cannot understand the emotions to follow. For that reason alone she finds boys and shopping boring and when finally allowed to attend an actual school becomes the source of her detachment from peers. If any signs of genuine attract is made it’s usually overpowered by her love of toys and in a comedic fashion gets ruined by her finding physical aspects of him that could be used as a model reference for an action figure or doll.
In her adult years she takes her job as the owner of True Design Toy Company very seriously. Maintaining a child-like innocence she has little interest in boys and as such lacks a dating/social life. Her love lies in toymaking and helping keeping Earth safe. As the owner of the company, she oversees all production of toys made in their factory and personally keeps tabs on any complaints made by customers. Though most of her personality stays the same she shows signs of wanting to connect with others more though this could be pinned on her grandfather’s old age and declining health creating her desire not to end up alone.
She has always had ill feelings toward Vegeta and his kids though it is unknown why. Rumor has it her father was an ex of Bulma Briefs.
