Her kind, a rarity in her home world were treated no different from any other, but they often chose jobs with high notoriety or partook in events which helped the world for better or worse. Gem's choice was to become an "cleanser" to avoid being annoyed by potential suitors if her accomplishments became well known. She just wanted to continue her life of harassing her childhood friend Gao every chance she got and being an "cleanser" seemed to be the best choice to her since he was going far away for his own teachings. Years passed since they last met, but word came of some criminal behavior he was involved in. She knew this not to be the case because in her mind, he was far too much of a softy to do anything terribly bad, but she wouldn't put it pass him to disobey orders if he felt strongly enough. The first chance she got she stole an enemy ship and took off in search of him to not only find out the truth, but to make sure he kept out of getting in more trouble than he currently is in which took her shorter than expected due to a massive incident taking place where numerous reports of the ship he "stole" was reported to be at. Dropping her shopping immediately, she ran to the stolen ship and stole her way to the planet of Eternity where a ship graveyard met her upon arrival.
