It was only natural for young Pango Joy to go into the medical field, just like the rest of her family. Such education is a difficult thing to afford or accomplish, especially when coming from the forgotten pits of the Orre region's Pyrite town, The Under. Her mother ran the free clinic in the district, leaving the family with more than a few hungry nights. Since those days, she never saw a benefit to helping others out of the simple kindness of one's own heart.
She began young with her involvement of organized crime. An urchin of Pyrite town had eyes and ears in every shadow. Being a Joy, she had the first information on who was injured, why, in what area of the city, and what room they were hiding in for them to finish the job. She wasn't even yet a teenager when it was requested that Pango herself finish the job for them. One incorrect dose of medication later and a young girl was rewarded with more money she had ever seen.
And it was all. So. Easy.
Pango had earned all the necessary requirements for her diploma when she was 15 and immediately enrolled into college. Within 12 years, she earned two doctorates. She was certified a doctor in medical practice as well as research and development in biological (micro and macro) engineering. Her business dealings transformed her mother's free clinic into a fully fledged hospital, earning more funds and restricting the free health access to once a week. Within the depths of this very hospital, much darker experiments are conducted. Whether it be on humans or on Pokemon, Pango Joy will cut through all and any to get closer in reaching her goal of inventing the ultimate Pokeball.
Malpractice cases against Joy Hospital were either won in court or settled in litigation, leaving Pyrite city's hospital with an almost suspiciously clean record for the region rampant with crime. The fate of most human patients brought were decided for them, whether they had information necessary to be pulled from before they could kick the bucket or an 'unfortunate' case of not being able to make it through treatment. For the Pokemon patients that wouldn't be missed, more often than not they were taken to the depths of the hospital, I giant spiraling tower that reached from Pyrite town to many floors below the town's Undercity. These lowest floors of the hospital are high in security can cannot be accessed by normal means, kept hidden from the rest of the world.
It is within those depths where Dr. Joy accomplishes her best work, bringing herself that much closer to the ultimate power of being able to break and manipulate the mind, the soul, and nature itself.

Her kindly demeanor, her sense of style, even the way she carries her voice is carefully articulated to ensure underestimation. She's thrilled when able to lure someone into a false sense of trust, proud of her perfected art of manipulation. Very few are unlucky enough for her to remove this mask and unleash her cold-blooded ruthlessness to them.
To most, especially initial meetings, Pango is bubbly and cheerful to the point where it comes off as an annoying ditz. Her quick wit is very evident in her words, however, and often talks in silly similes and metaphors.

The real Pango has no humor. No matter how well-practiced the smile, it can't reach her dark, hollow eyes. She has no remorse and no fear. Everything done is calculated and to further her own goals. Loyalty is something she takes but does not give. She will waste no time with you if you are useless.
Pango lures you in with tact, using any means necessary to manipulate an individual. She will learn everything you love and become it, and she will have you learn to love everything about her. She will ensure that the secret behind the mask will die with you if you become the target and will leave no trace behind

- Has shown signs of a psychological disorder since childhood, torturing and experimenting on smaller bug or bird type Pokemon.
- Her mother was an overworked nurse and her father was an overworked paralegal. She had seen the success of their bosses in how they stepped on their subordinates.
- A certified genius in having managed to get a double doctorates within 12 years, starting college when she was 15. She specializes in medicine and microbiological engineering. * Dabbles in psychology and law for fun.
- Her hospital has never lost a medical malpractice case. Any litigation that didn't make it to court was likely given a satisfactory amount of hush money.
- The Jennys and Joys have a close relationship, therefore also putting the law in Pango's pocket.
- For her victims that are a slower burn to get rid of, she brings them home and ensures their body is never found by having trained her Audino** to eat the corpses, human or Pokemon.
- Said ace Pokemon is visibly Fu*ked Up ™️ and it's a wonder just what Pango had done to the poor thing to break it. It's utterly sadistic and bloodthirsty.
- Audino is also a perfect tool for gaslighting with its ability to calm those with hostility once in range.
- Salazzle came from a series of eugenic breeding to obtain it's shiny form and competitive capabilities. She's actually quite shy and reserved, terrified of her trainer.
- Pyukumuku is rather prideful of its tanking capabilities and taunts Pokemon mid battle to hurting him more. Likes to spit out his innards to flip you off.
- Lurantis is just a cute little bean that has no idea what's going on. Enjoys battling and simply thinks the abuse she receives after a loss are the ways of the world. Usually it takes time and care for a Lurantis to have such vibrant colors, but she's naturally very optimistic and clueless.
