The Land of Kaferia is an airborne nation created from generations worth of magick’d parcels of land being raised as a safe-haven for The Tide Touched who sought escape from The Dark One’s Thorn on the surface of the Galvian Continent. Here magick roams as free as the magicians who would have been in either captivity, or employed by great generals to wage war. Wanderers from all walks of life charter vessels to brave the winds to find themselves on the cobbled streets of Kaferia for the sake of one thing or another, usually escaping the woes of mad wizards’ curses, or the touch of dreamed demons in their influence. Rarely, one may spot orphans looking to apprentice beneath the tutelage of an older magician, or the occasional mercenary looking for an enchantment. Removed from the affairs of surface life, Kaferians consider themselves above the compulsion to serve any throne and instead swear fealty to the Order of The Tide, a collective of magicians who trace their lineage back to the first of the mansions raised to the skies to create what they now walk on. Shailoh known as ‘The Vanguard’ began his journey in this nation, having chartered a vessel with what funds he had gotten from his parents on his eighteenth name day. When he had arrived, a member of The Order of The Tide had met an unfortunate end at the hand of a steel dagger, causing the nation’s lockdown and of course thrusting Shailoh into a conspiracy unlike any the youth had experienced on the surface.
