Rosso was once a member of the Imperial Army, but was dishonorably discharged. Since then he has been the leader of the Desert Alcabalino Gang, taking from civilians and looking for the perfect chance to earn his way back into the Empire.
In his time as a bandit, Rosso befriends another former Imperial Soldier by the name of Viola, and the two would soon become very close. And as time would continue on, their gang would form with several others. Their main base happened to be close enough to a small colony situated within the Republic, and in time they would become entangled with a teen whom learned to pilot a Shield Liger along with a small organoid. The organoid in question was an incredibly power and rare symbiotic life form~ which was vastly coveted by both the Guylos Empire and Helic Republic, and the gang would eagerly set out to steal it from him. Each attempt would fail miserably. Still, an oppertunity would form as the Battle for Red River was about to spark. The Empire needed a covert group of mercenaries to help jump start a standoff, so that the Empire could legally invade the Republic without breaking their ceasefire. The job however was a setup, and Rosso along with his gang was used as a scapegoat instead.
In spite of this, Rosso later ends up in prison for his actions. Viola, Jarro, and Bianco work together to bail him out, and explain that they're planning to kidnap prince Rudolph. He agrees to help, making use of the new Iron Kong they've gifted him, but as the plan goes horribly awry he begins to see the regrets of his actions. Not for himself, but for the young prince that was affected by it.
Eventually, Rosso would break free from prison with the help of his gang of bandits, and would soon begin to plot to steal a young Emperor-to-be as payback. After what had happened, Rosso held no compassion nor sympathy for the child-prince as he was only nine years old at the time of his kidnapping. But, just as his mission succeeds, he soon learns that an assassination plot was in action. What turned to be a kidnapping ultimately became his rescue. And as a result, Rosso along with Viola break from the bandit gang to escape with the prince, named Rudolf Gearhard Zepplin III. A massive search party was deployed from those who wanted him safe, and those that wanted to kill him. And eventually, Rudolf having learned to trust Rosso decided to go look for food to help thank him for saving his life. He got lost, and wound up with a pair of traveling Zoid Pilots on a shearch for some mysterious thing called Zoid Eve.
Rosso and Viola managed to reunite with their prince only to have their happy reunion cut brutally short. ust as they arrived, a kid by the name of Raven showed up in a Geno Saurer threatening to take the kid and destroy anyone in his way. Rosso ended up sacrificing himself to allow those Zoid travelers escape with Rudolf in hopes they would carry him back to the Empire's capitol.
While their Zoid was destroyed, Rosso and Viola were both pulled from the wreckage by a wandering Scientist who treated their wounds and offered them a job as experimental pilots. Both of them took the job and would go to steal these new Zoids for a new mission. When they succeeded, they donned a new identity with Rosso being the Baron of Wings, and Viola the Sword of Storms. Together they would scan the radio waves and help those Zoid pilots whom were taking Rudolf back until they reached the capitol itself.
Years later the duo would keep both the Zoids and their identities as "Heroes of the Sky." as rumors of a new evil was on the rise.
