The sound of a sweet yet sorrowful melody filled the unoccupied gardens of Koishikawa Korakuen, a charming garden not far from the Tokyo Dome. Then, all of a sudden, the captivating tune ended. A young lady, approximately 7-10 years old, stood silently, gazing at the dark sky overhead. Her silver hues searched the gloomy atmosphere, holding her small hand as tiny droplets landed in her palm. "Now?" muttered the young lady. She placed her violin back into its protective case, quickly gathered her belongings, and then hurried to the nearest station. Koishikawa Korakuen resided in the Imperial Palace district, near Minato, aย special ward in the Tokyo Metropolis in Japan.
Twenty minutes later
Standing in front of the apartment building, the young lady wondered if it had been a mistake to come there alone. Yet, she missed her family. "Mama...papa..." whimpered the youngster. Cold, wet, and lonely, she headed inside the apartment complex. A young couple was already inside the elevator. "What floor, sweetie?" the woman asked her. "I'm not sure..." she replied. "Mamoru Chibi..." she added. The young woman smiled. She must have known him because the young woman pressed the floor button. A few minutes later, the elevator doors opened again, the young couple stepped off, and once again, she was alone. Nervously, she played with her hair, which happened to be a beautiful shade of lavender.ย
Who was she? Known as Mizuki Tsukino, she was the second future daughter of Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion. Like her older sister Chibiusa, Mizuki had been sent to this time to become a better ruler and guardian. Approaching the door to Mamoru's apartment, she felt nervous about appearing unannounced. Mizuki hadn't lived in the past for very long; it had only been a month at the very least. During that time, she had mainly kept to herself. She wasn't typically like her; Mizuki was usually cheerful, hyper, and vibrant. However, coming to the past against her wishes made her uncertain of herself. Why? What was so important about coming to the past? Couldn't she train to be a guardian in her own time? Was it true? Did her family not honestly want her?ย
Chibiusa was already heir to the throne, so what purpose would she truly serve? Did she even have one? Mizuki shook her head, trying to rid her mind of those kinds of thoughts. No! She couldn't think like that; it was dangerous to think like that. She knew her parents loved her! Knocking on the door, Mizuki then waited patiently.ย
