History

Ari hails from the bloodline of the King, the Ancestral Gilgamesh. At least that is what he is lead to believe his entire life. However he is actually a Divine Human Construct created for the sole purpose of acting as a Vessel for Gilgamesh's reincarnation, attempted every century by the Tribe Chieftain. Ari is the Fourteenth Incarnation. In order to properly restore Gilgamesh, the Construct must have a Sync Ratio(The percentage of the User's mana being Divine) of 100%. However previous attempts ended in failure as none of the Incarnation could never achieve 100%. And Ari was the worst of the Failures as he had no divine mana inside his body whatsoever and could only use low level Projection magic(Earth's Verse of Synergy). The Gilgamesh Family looked at Ari with eyes of disgust. For much of his young life,  he was forced to follow the family's orders, no matter how ridiculous and labor intensive (such as loaning him to Team Argonaut who used him as a pack horse), and endured much abuse and bullying, most of which was unjustified and cruel. He endured most of the abuse with a smile.

Having finally grown tired of Ari 's existence at age 15, the Gilgamesh family threw him in the Schism, a pocket dimension where the souls of those they defeated are trapped. The Schism was rumored as the birth place of monsters and thus were home to Divine Monsters. Ari while not possessing divine mana, did wield incredible combat capabilities; however he was no match for the creatures that inhabited the abysmal torture chamber.

His first day there was a rough one to say the least as he'd lost an arm(eaten by a hideous bear). He lucked out while digging a hole to escape the {Claw Bear} and discovered a stone that leaked a strange liquid which kept him from dying of blood lost. While the strange stone kept Ari alive, through constant healing, it did nothing to sate his hunger. Still weak and too afraid to leave the refuge of the stone, Ari spent weeks going insane from starvation and  phantom limb syndrome. Eventually something broke in Ari. Having resolved himself to survive and escape because he simply wanted to live his own life, Ari took on the creatures with Intelligence and traps. After many failures and near death escapes, Ari finally trapped the Schism creature, a pair of monstrous bats. Out of sheer hunger, he devoured the beasts. A dramatic change took place. His violet hair became deathly white and red cracks appeared on his body. But more than that, he also managed to gain the creature's abilities, specifically the Skill 《Devour》. Using his knowledge of Sacred Gears from research notes he discovered by the Governor General of the Fallen, Azazel as well as the military weapons his family created, Ari constructed an Artificial Sacred Gear in the form of a gun, Blitz. Ari then hunted and 'devoured' more creatures, in turn gaining more abilities and strength.

He then had a 'rematch' with the hideous bear(he purposely shot off its arm and ate it in front of the creatures to incite it) when he slew it. However there was no feeling of relief or accomplishment, just emptiness. That's when he realized. He was being led by the nose. Everyone always controlled him. His family, the other heroes, and even this bear. They controlled his actions, his emotions, his life. That's when he realized, he would be in control from on. He would do what he wanted and live how he wanted. If anyone stood in his way, they'd be his enemies. And all enemies will be killed!

After months of roaming the Schism, Ari encountered Seras, a Trueblood Vampire. She was chained to a throne with a spear through her chest. Despite this, the girl was somehow able to not only survive but converse with Ari. At first, he was suspicious of her, as she appeared to be forcibly imprisoned. He believed she was simply a Divine Monster who was trying to lure him into a trap and thus was going to leave her in her prison. He reconsidered after she revealed that she was betrayed by her Aunt during a Civil War between her family, the Carmilla Faction whom she was the head of and the Tepes Faction. Despite the betrayal, her Aunt was unable to deliver the killing blow and instead opted to seal her. She hired the Gilgamesh Tribe to use Enkidu to seal Seras movement to the Throne and Ascalon to bind her powers. Relating to the Vampire Heiress as he too was betrayed by those he thought of as family, He decides to free her. After spending months together, the two developed a strong bond, even giving each other new names. The Vampire Heiress chose the name Ari(who at the time was referred to as either Gilgamesh or Failure) because it meant lion's heart to which she believed he had after surviving so much tribulations and in turned Ari gave her the name Seras (which meant Flaming Angel) because of the fire in her eyes and the wish for life despite her situation.

As the two travel, they grew in power with each territory they conquered. Their success awoke a dreadful entity in the Schism. As it turns out, the Third Incarnation of Gilgamesh (who was the closest attempt to reincarnating the Ancestral Gilgamesh with 97% Sync Ratio) had still been alive, despite a few centuries passing. 3rd, as he liked to be called, believed all the Incarnations should obey the will of the family and all those unable to serve a use deserved to be put through the process of 'disposal.' He appointed himself head of said process and eliminated any who managed to survive for too long. Ari spat at 3rd's belief, berating him as a simple lapdog of the Gilgamesh Tribe. He affirmed that he was 'Ari' not 'Gilgamesh' and that he would live a life he wanted with his woman, Seras (who froze with embarrassment over his declaration). The two fought with Ari who had Seras by his side coming out victorious. Before dying, 3rd cursed Ari dubbing him a 'Balance Breaker' because of the Chaos he would bring by existing. Ari shrugged the statement off and shot dead before 'devouring' him.

After 'devouring' 3rd, Ari and Seras encounter the final wall of the obstacles, the Ancestral Gilgamesh. As it turns out, the Schism is actually one of a set of trials created by a group of legendary Magus(Merlin, Ozma, Medea, Asclepius, Semiramis, Weyward, and Sanzo) known as the 《Mavericks of Magic》or 《M×M》to imbue worthy individuals with extraordinary abilities known as 《Last Crest》, or Golden Age lost knowledge. The Schism was actually the 《Trial of Ozma》but was found by Gilgamesh and converted into a Mausoleum for him to rest until the appropriate body was fashioned. Having eaten 3rd as well as the other divine monster, Ari not only obtained but exceed the ratio of 100% Divine mana and thus fulfilled Gilgamesh's requirements for reincarnation. Gilgamesh attempted to kidnap Seras and force Ari to become his vessel. However, because Ari willingly and continuously gave his blood to her, Seras proved too difficult to catch. The two pushed Gilgamesh to the point of unleashing Ea, the Divine Sword of Rupture. However before he could make use of it, Ari used Enkidu which he kept after freeing Seras to bind him. He then called forth 《Retribution》, a rocket launcher forged from Ascalon. The aura around Ascalon could sever dragon aura and by furthering the damage with 3rd and the other monsters mana, Ari constructed a missile attack that continously attacked divinity. Unable to move and no divinity to protect him, Ari and Seras attack Gilgamesh until he literally dissolved into nothing.

After defeating Gilgamesh, who recognized as the Master of the Schism, Ari and Seras were gifted with the Last Crest of Ozma. This crest was dubbed《Outer Alchemic》, an Earth-Variation of Creation Magic. With 《Outer Alchemic》, Ari was now able to further create enhanced Artificial Sacred Gear that rivaled the Originals. The pair were also gifted with information on the existence and location of the other six trials.

After learning of the Trials of 《MxM》, Ari and Seras set out to claim their powers so they could live a comfortable without care of interference. Along the way they happened on a teenage Caocao, who alongside his Partner Georg were intrigued by the pair. The four briefly founded the Hero Faction, a group of descendence who 'help' the people. The group was short-lived due to differences in motivation. Ari and Seras simply wanted income to survive while Caocao and Georg seem to be the type to reach for 'strong' monsters to test their limits as human. This typically involved monsters who'd integrated into society and were trying to live normal lives. Not wanting to be a hypocrite(as he was technically a monster who wanted a normal life) and since it went against his creed of only killing his enemies, Ari quit the Hero Faction.

After traveling and attempting to dodging an annoying Jason of Team Argonaut who was sent by Caocao to convince him and Seras to return to the Hero Faction, Ari discovered the second trial 《Trial of Merlin》, was somehow moved to the Moon. He was told this by a Mysterious Old Man(whom was later revealed to be Indra in disguised. Indra wanted to cause mischievous for Caocao for previously manipulating him to a scuffle). Apparently, there was a hidden village located on the Moon where life was maintained. The Old Man could also apparently open a gate for Ari and Seras. However the pair were far too suspicious of the convenience, so Ari instead opted to build his own Rocket. Using the strongest metal found in the Ancestral Gilgamesh's Treasury, Ari using 《Outer Alchemic》to reinforced the alloy. Seras used her 《Outer Alchemic》to fuel her fire magic and propel the duo off the ground.

Despite it being on the spot and makeshift, the rocket still made it to the Moon. Using their presence sensing abilities they were even able to land near the rumored Moon Village. There Ari and Seras discovered a The Mizuki Clan, a group of Moon Rabbits, humanoid beings with rabbit features. The Rabbits were living fear from constant attacks of the Evil Dragon of Zoroastrianism, Azi Dahaka.
