My name is Gwen Parker, and I'm officially this verses only Spider-Gal. My twin brother, Peter Parker and I were at a Biology event down town with our class when an earthquake had everyone in a panic. We hid of course in a secure looking room, but we didn't know that was where the company had done more...well non public experiments. He an I both got bit by two identical neon spiders when a case fell by us. And well after a week we noticed all these cool powers, plus our hair turned to this nifty silver color! We had to lie to our parents we dyed it on a whim and liked it.
But, to be honest it should of been my twin brother Peter to be the only one alive right now. Before the crisis he and I were a tag team vigilante duo! Oh it was super awesome and fun, bam and pow and we would do this cool trick with our webs where... er sorry. Ahem, so anyway when we learned about a mass of other Spideys we were at first ecstatic, I mean think how cool it be swinging into another's world to help them out right? Problem is the supposed leader was not thrilled on that according to Peter who had went instead of me (Mom was not letting me miss my midterm make up).
But something changed in my twin, he seemed well bummed out. It took a few pestering nights as the Spider duo to get him to spill what Miguel O'Hara had told him. Something about a cannon event we had to let happen. Of course I so wasn't having that! Gods I was stupid, I should of just let it happen. Losing one wouldn't of been as painful as losing two. There was this thug who mugged our house while we were out patrolling one night, our mother who was home then had assumed we were upstairs asleep. Dad was at work so naturally she fought to protect kids who weren't even home. When we did come back Dad was in tears waiting for us in the living room. The news rocked us to our cores, we were heroes and we couldn't even save our own family.
Peter had opted to come clean and tell our old man the truth, he wasn't angry cause he had found out our secret, how is still the mystery. But had he told Mom then maybe she wouldn't of done that, hell we should of told them. Made them communicators to let us know they were safe. Peter was the angry calm, I wasn't. I hunted those who stole our mom from us down, and I found them. Justice wasn't in my mind that night, I wanted to even the score and so I did. Peter was stunned I murdered them, said it wouldn't bring our mother back. At the time I assumed they were small time thugs, I didn't know they belonged to a bigger gang front. Their boss laid a trap and had Nurse Oct, Serpent, and Queen Pin waiting to ambush us, we did ruin their plans countless times after all.
It was intense and brutal, Peter shielded most the impacts from me so he was already real bad. I was so focused on getting us out that I didn't sense the attack, but I did feel the violent shove from Peter. And...he didn't get back up after that. In one month I buried two family members, and I found out from another Spider hero that all along I was the only one to be dead. I was an anomaly in my own world, I was suppose to die in the earthquake and only Peter was suppose to become Neon York's only Spiderman.
