Kaida Ryou has been groomed and trained as a personal assassin or spy to the leaders of an organization called The Rising Phoenix. The order claims control of almost all superhuman/supernatural beings in the world although they remain mostly underground hidden behind the facade of running businesses, schools, and military headquarters. As an assassin Kaida is very much a loner which she prefers as she does not want people to know her lineage. She secretly works for her elder brother who is determined to bring the destruction of their family to fruition.

Yanji

“Temper us in fire, and we grow stronger. When we suffer, we survive.”

Yanginshe Zhang is an old family friend of Kaida's mother. Years ago he fought with The Rising Phoenix and was considered the next in line to take over the title of The Phoenix of the organization. While many wanted him for the position, Yanji ultimately decided against it. He saw a corruption within the group that he had no interest in taking part. He left to live his life in solitude within the Temple of his people. After years of searching Kaida found him in search of a Master strong enough to give her the power to achieve her own goals.

Jiro

“Beware the fury of a patient man.”

Jiro Ryou is Kaida's eldest brother. Outcasted by the Ryou for being the illegitimate son of the leader of the clan, he grew up never truly understanding the evil of his powers. After the murder of his mother he spent his life being moved from one foster home to another. None wanting to keep him for very long. Alone and isolated from society his obsession with the clan that abandoned him at birth drove him to become stronger so he could destroy them all.

Maya

“You cannot find peace by avoiding life.”

Maya Natsume is Kaida's mother. A skilled martial artist and swordsman, Maya is also the head of the Natsume Clan one of the founding families of The Rising Phoenix. Many of Kaida's skills and techniques she learned from her mother. While Kaida bears no ill will toward her mother and although they were close when she was a child, at present the two often argue and bicker.

Akira

"Mastering others is strength."

Akira Ryou is Kaida's father. He is the Head of the Ryou Clan who descend from the former families of the Yakuza. The reputation of the Ryou is one of distaste and fear. Known to be power hungry and vengeful they are looked down upon my the majority of The Rising Phoenix. Akira is determined to bring respect to their clan though his methods are questionable. He pushes Kaida to reach the full potential of their clans power though she struggles to accept it.

Riku

“Family is one of nature’s masterpieces.”

Riku Natsume is the only of her four siblings that Kaida has a true bond with. Though they do not have the same father his carefree and protective nature has always made her feel safe. She has always confided in him alone. In later years she began to distance herself from him considering him to be one of her biggest weaknesses.

Legacy

Susanoo and Amaterasu, cestial beings at war with one another since the beginning of time. The siblings are meant to keep the universe in harmony and balance but their rivalry often reaches past their plane into the world of men. Susanoo, in all his selfishness, wished to guide the mortal plane into a greater form of being and so descended into the existence of the meek to begin his work. He chose twelve women who bore him sons. Giving each a power of their own to possess and grow strong from. It might take decades or even centuries but those with the power of these bloodines would grow strong until he had amassed an army capable of taking over the universe in his image. Amaterasu, learning of his plans, fragmented her own soul to be placed into a worthy vessel. Should the original vessel fail, the fragment of soul would be passed on and blossom in the greatest times of need.

As the centuries passed Amaterasu fought her brothers schemes to control the mortal plane. Each time he thought he had won, there was always one with the power to stop him. Despite his continued failures his blood spread and though it grew weaker with each generation he knew there would be one, someday, with the ability to consume them all and take their place at his side. Time means nothing to celestials and while Amaterasu keeps close watch over her brother they both make appearances in many myths and legends throughout hisory. Many of Susannoo's bloodline and those of Amaterasu's chosen warrior lineage have come together bound by their knowledge or abilities that are often feared and hidden, giving birth to The Rising Phoenix.

The Rising Phoenix was created thousands of years ago and even in times of silence and peace there are always those who survive to rebuild the organization. Often divided by what is considered 'normal' and 'supernatural', both work together for various reasons. There is no firm confirmation whether the organization fights for good or evil. They are called upon to settle disputes, to begin wars, to end wars. When hunted down they fight back and when killed they are reborn to seek vengence or serve the celestial they are called to.

Something Here

The Rising Phoenix is an organization of warriors from long ago. Brought together by the desire for mutual understanding and in some cases; Power. Both mortal and those with special abilities with a common goal. To become stronger, to protect, and to influence. A lingering desire for more draws most to hunt them down. Though very few even know of its exsistence. Playing the pretense of Business, Military, and politics those most powerful are integrated in places that could never know their secret unless they already knew.

The structure of this organization has no one leader. Many are scattered across the globe and, in some cases, the galaxy. The many hierachies tend to cause more trouble than is sometimes desired. The fires are never truly extinguished and wars amongst themselves have been know to break out in dark times.

Classifying, researching, and utilizing the strongest forms of abities is their main goal. Despite the contreversy of many of the methods used, this goal has left the organization to agree upon one thing. There are only two complete differences among them all. You either possesed a unique ability or You did not; and thus began the White & Red Feather families.
